We did 3 TE sets quite a bit last year, always in short yardage situations though.

That was more Markway/Gilbreath out there with Taylor in run blocking situations.
It will likely be the same situation and similar formation, but we just now have 2 red zone threats instead of 2 TEs that could really only block.

I think the tes will see many more 20+ yard looks with the athleticism. Pimptown should be able to throw blocks and get short yard looks with ease. Green gets some redzone looks.

Problem now is that we’ve only got 1 TE that can block (M.Taylor). Doesn’t give you a lot to work with formation wise.

You may see a little more two TE sets, with a little more push in the run game. We ran 14 personnel against aTm last season. All three scholarship TE's will play this season. If a 4th is needed, we have a WO, TE, Peterson that has earned a scholarship last season, he's a Red-Shirt Junior. 6'4" 252#. He played in 10 games last season.

With the TE talent I am not sure you see much 5 WR sets. Even then you may see Green as a WR in these sets because of the mismatch problems for the defense.

We have all seen backup tackles used as a blocking TE. Coming out with all three in a short situation and splitting KP and Dez out on 5’11” corners would be interesting.

On a third and goal from the eleven, you may want their height for a jump ball. Perhaps a hail Mary.

Having so many weapons is a good problem to have.

Does Durham have a receiving skill set. I'm sure we'll see Berry be part of a 5 wide receiver set when he gets here but could Durham do it this year?

I'm sure every back now learns to catch passes and run routes at least for swing passes, screens, and wheel routes. I could easily see Durham being involved as well as Holly if he makes it back to the team in time for any participation. I probably should have included Durham, I just figure it was more likely for BK to go with experience as he has shown himself to lean toward experienced players over freshmen. That is not to say he won't use freshmen, simply that experience will tip close calls in favor of the more seasoned players.

I don't know that we will ever actually se 5 WR on the field. If you 5 i a pattern, my guess would be 1-2 would be TE flex

Yes, I’d agree. Depends on the situation, but pimpton and Mason Taylor offer something of value in these flex situations.

When we are looking for speed, Hilton and Anderson will be in there.

If it’s a Hail Mary, Pimpton and the others with lenth and reach.
