If Kelly makes the change

Moscona thinks it’s a done deal

But Kelly seems like a continuity guy and he held onto Van Gorder through some bad years. Most of his DC hires have worked out.

Will be interesting to see if he gives House another year and trusts his process, or if he makes the move now

He cannot depart with him in season. He is already one coach down in Lindsey being out. He cannot lose a LB coach.

Changing a coordinator is a drastic move. I think Pullian hitting the road hurt us in recruiting and in the portal. For that reason I think he sticks with house and hires a major D-line upgrade and maybe a coach for corners and or safeties.

The problem is the whole defensive staff needs an overhaul. You kick House out now, who is the interim?

^^^ This!
Who can claim their group is at least playing fundamental football?
I get injuries, lack of talent, etc.
I don’t get seeing undisciplined football. That’s a failure to coach.

I really wish Freeman followed BK here instead of ND hiring him.

Jenkins (not Pete) probably. You cannot just fire the guy bc it’s literally a numbers issue with coaches.

This is what sucks about these situations in organizations, in general.

Ideally, the person making the decision to keep or fire House would know more about being a defensive coordinator at this level than House. But that is rarely the case.

I think House is gone at seasons end. This defensive performance occurring at the same time that we have the top offense in the country is a killer. The fans want action-and that action is getting rid of the D.C.

You do have bob diaco on staff tho . If you did want to fire him in the season . Pretty sure bob was ND DC when they had that manti te’o defense

Moscona doesn’t know much. He speculates a lot though.

Polian was his boy and he moved on from him. House is as good as gone.

If he hangs onto house he's putting himself on the chopping block. He has to fire him.

Brian Kelly came to LSU to win a natty.

He doesn't love Louisiana or Baton Rouge. He doesn't give a frick about the SEC.

This was a legacy move. He knows he needs a ring to be remembered. He could have won it this year with just average defense play.

We just wasted one of our greatest offenses ever and a real chance at a natty because of this defense. I don't think Kelly wants to see that again.

This. Firing house is like landing a high 4* recruit right now for the fan base. Just give us something to be excited about

Oh I don’t know. Let’s let Brian earn his 10m by taking over the defense the last 4 games of ‘23

I can understand the defense under performing this year with the lack of players in the secondary. But to be this bad is unacceptable. I expected a downturn in Def this season but this is horrendous. Some of it is due to players and their inexperience but the rest of it is bad fundamentals (angles and tackling), D-line not producing, and terrible zone defenses.
