We had that game won, and gave it up on playing soft coverage.

I think the bigger disappointment was Les playing for the FG on the 3rd down play on the last drive when he should have called a pass play for a first down and the win. Mett was hot and LSU had been moving the ball consistently through the air. Les played it too conservatively and that gave Bama the chance they needed.

What about the games we barely won the last 2 weeks? Those games could have gone either way. Ole Miss had a shorthanded 1st year coach with a 59 man roster and could have easily won that game. Ole Miss and Arkansas are sitting around saying the same thing as some LSU fans. A loss is a loss.

But considering LSU lost 5 starters either before the season or during the season, I thought we still did a good job and had a good year.
IMO - it says more about this program by the fact we are one blown drive away from playing for the NC despite losing 5 starters for the season.

This! Forever LSU!!!

You retards would be calling for Les' head had those two games gone the other way. And they well could have...

Imagine if there was no penalty at the end of the Tennessee game for too many men on the field in 2010.

You could hire Bobby Petrino. I understand he's looking.

Are you high? Title run, eh? Well, here's to wishful thinking because without an offense, there will be no title and no title run.

LSU had many scoring opportunities in that game but blew them. It's one game fans will remember for a long time.

All you guys talking about stopping Bama with 1:30 left don't get it. The game wasn't lost on defense. It was lost on offense. When you hand a last chance to a good offense with adequate time left you usually lose. Don't hand it to them!

We had the ball on Bama's 30. All drive long - in fact, the entire second half - Bama showed they were going to stop the run even if it made them susceptible to the pass. Play action was working; running was not. We should have thrown on second down. If we had, there's a 70% chance our next play would have been from victory formation or an extra point.

LSU had the lead and the W with time restriction to easier predict playcalls.
LSU shouldn't have to worry about not having the ball last.
The D failed, and has struggled ever since.
It's just easier for you to blame Miles if you claim offensive fault.
That is all.

Take it 2 drives earlier by LSU and 6 straight runs up the middle w FG and missed FG. If we pass for 1st down on any of those plays (and we had success the ENTIRE 2nd half) we have 2 score lead and it's BCS championship revisit time - maybe. Les didn't go for the win and that's that. Fact is our offensive game plan and play calling has been pretty basic all season and most of the time very predictable.

After watching all the best teams in the country play today I do think LSU is in the discussion among the very best when they are playing their best but we had issues all season w youth on defense and a very immobile QB. Looking forward to bowl game and 2013 season as well as another outstanding recruiting season! Geaux Tigers!

You can say that about every team last year and most likely every team this year too (assuming ND falls to A). Most teams need help to get in. So, 14-0 is extremely rare, although we came damn close last year - If that is your definition of success, you are in for many failed years with any team you choose to semi-support.

This team was good, not great. Greatly underachieved and lacked a LOT of discipline - on and off the field. We could have been a LOT better, A LOT better.

You act surprised. It's a Les Miles team. Les Miles teams are talented and passionate, but play inconsistent football. They will probably always have one of the best rosters, and will probably always lose a couple. That has been good enough to get to the SEC championship game now and then and even sneak into a BCSCG.

Now that Saban has Bama rolling, it remains to be seen if it will continue to be enough. Like '08, last year was an outlier. not so much numerically, but in terms of consistency.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Just like this year and last year Alabama will stand between LSU and a few more championships as long as Saban is there. LSU's best is good enough to rival Alabama's best, but Saban teams are generally more consistent.

So in short, what you're complaining about is nothing new and you should learn how to deal with it.

it is what happens when you lose to Bama. That game now is basically our season every year going forward......it killed our chances at winning the SEC and a NC. WHo cares about a crap non BCS bowl game? there are a million bowl games now. totally useless. playoffs cannot get here fast enough. hopefully even with a lone loss to bama we can run the table and get to #4 and make the playoffs should this happen again in 2014.

sadly we have another year of no playoffs.
