Anyone comment that Reid closed his eyes?

Also, between those two shots it is clear that the ball has rotated more than half way around in a split second. This has been clearly visible from all of the fast frame series shots.

Courtesy of the greatest paper on the planet,

This is not even remotely close to the truth, but I looked anyway.
Truth is, it doesn't matter, the call was made and it's over.

Good post. Reid's want for the ball was greater than the tight end's. Desire in life often is much greater than natural gifts and those who want something, no matter the disadvantages they face, may be able to attain it even before others who have advantages they do not.

Doesn't matter. They both had their hands on the ball last one with it wins.

What an amazing play

This is the one that clinches it, IMO

We sort of got payback for the wrong ruling PP7 got a year ago vs. Bama. We were right in both cases though.

I agree with the call completely.

Not completely. Reid didn't possess it completely until he broke the plane of the goal line. It should have been a touchback.

Between picture 5 & 6 it is clear the ball has turned 90 degrees in a fraction of a second.

The ball never crossed the goal line - look at it again

It's most obvious to me that it wasn't even a case of simultaneous possesion but of no possesion by either one as they hit almost lime a loose ball. Reid wrestled it away and possesion first when possesion mattered. It definitely helps that the call on the field was an int, but then again the ruling was confirmed. It was a pick :dealwithit:

I don't understand why this keeps coming up. I've talked with tons of Bama fans about this game. Not one is bitching about this call. Including me. We all agree if it had been called a reception they wouldn't have overturned it. Just like they weren't going to overturn calling it a interception. It was an incredable defensive play. The refs did a great job. There were a few lated hits, some out of bounds etc. They knew going in these were the best of the best and they let them play. It was and still is a turnover.

The T-P is the best paper on the planet.

Ya gotta be kidding.

It used to be a lot better, but they apparently fired all their proofreaders years ago, and now Duncan, Varney and Finney are apparently the only ones who bother to reread their stuff before posting.

I miss Varney's LSU coverage. He'd always put in at least one word that would send the majority of the N.O. readership looking for a dictionary.

Deshazier started the arse-backward sentence construction that has spread throughout the sports page like a virus. They're probably using Word grammar correction instead of proofreaders.

Sorry for all this. Just hit a nerve.

In the first pic, above the Bama TE's left hand, that sure looks like Landon Collins to me. If someone knows where the recruits sit for games could shed some light before I find out for sure? Wouldn't that be ironic, Dtowns E Reid w/ Landon in the background?

The Sports section is barely above the Comics section, and I say that for every newspaper. Who cares about those sections? When judging newspapers, I don't. What matters to me? Columnists, and the T.P. has the South's best in James Gill and two prodigies. The TP also has the nation's two best locally based environmental writers in Bob Marshall and Mark Schelfstein. Investigative reporting is okay. Sports section sucks, but I don't read the sports section. What a waste that would be.

The photo's don't tell the story with this one. It was a pick though. No argument here.

I just want the first OT possession back. That was just ugly.
