Why do you people still argue with still photos?
Because consecutive still photos are what make up a moving picture...and your video shows exactly what I described.
Honestly...you own video disproves your assertion. The only thing the video shows is that the ball did not hit Doucet's body because it was batted away a yard or 2 short of getting ot him. In the meantime, Doucet had been assraped by Gilbert while trying to GET to the ball.
In slow motion (consecutive still pictures movings slowly to show detail) it's clear the ball was nowhere near being as poorly thrown (trajectory wise) as you've asserted.
I think you may have been owned by your own evidence.

His investment in this is too great to back down or change position. It's a lose/lose for him at this point.

First it was his knowledge of the rules...and someone posted the actual rules.
Then it was that the ball was uncathable due to just how poorly it was thrown. Both in still shots AND the video of the game he posted it is clear the ball was well within any norms of being considered catchable.
In all honesty...I've gotten over this shitty call years ago. I'm just not a fan of someone pissing on my shoes and claiming it's raining.

The "no-holding" call earlier was a more horrific play. The PI call-now-it-aint was open to interpretation but once called should have stood in my opinion. The Lafell no-call was a flat out blown call period. Still, had LSU opened up the play book they were 2 touchdowns better than Auburn and by years end would have whipped them handily. I'll also say that in '05 Auburn was the better team that day but your kicker was directionally challenged.

If I'm the white hat in that game, I talk with my back judge, and hopefully he tells me that it's illegal contact downfield; that's the right call.
..and after he tells you that, what will you do?

Point is if you think picking up flag for any reason on that play was the right call you are a retard

Good grief. I am not going to read this entire thread filled with idiots debating a call years ago that isn't debatable. Ref's gave Auburn three no calls that I can remember on our receivers. One in the endzone, one down the left sideline and the most famous one where the LSU receiver has his arm being held down by the db while running a post or crossing pattern.
So anyone that doesn't think a flag should have been thrown on each of these three plays is an idiot.

i am over the 06 season. i am pretty sure most are.
i think this thread started as a silly little joke, then took on a mind of its own.

It WAS pass Interference. That guy in white clearly jumped up and into the arms of the guy in blue to keep him from intercepting the pass. Horrible no call

What would you say in your announcement?

Here's to hoping for another bad call going our way so we have something closer to the present to argue about.........was a good call anyway, clean play not contact.

Please feel free to look up the rule in question and tell me what the penalty for defensive holding in college football is.
