1) Whether you are catching passes or not, NFL teams are getting tape on you and there is a place for you at the next level in a run first college scheme

2) Les will always subscribe to the philosophy that 3 things can happen when you throw the ball and 2 of them aren't good

3) We have arguably the best back in college football and he simply needs to carry the rock a lot

Calvin Johnson and Demarius (sp? no idea) Thomas came from the Georgia Tech triple option attack.... Play your role and things will work out.

LSU has been running the ball for years and we put more WRs into the League than anyone. Pass happy spread offenses generally don't put their WRs into the League.

We are throwing 15 times a game. If the WRs would catch, instead of dropping around 20 passes so far this season, we would throw more - maybe 20 times per game. Drives would be extended and stats would go up.

We do need more intermediate passing, though.

Haha, yea no kidding. I meant to put an E after the D, and I thought there was a y in there, but I have no clue....

4) NFL coaches value down field WR blocking a lot. Learn it, do it and do it well and it will pay off for you in the NFL.

Agreed. I also think we need to get the ball to the guys who want to play. Where the hell is Chark? He lit it up all spring and fall camp. Has he even seen the field. And Quinn. One pass to him Sat. which he caught. Come on man!

Time to shake up the receiving corps.

Get Chark and Quinn in the game with diarse. Johnson just needs more time. Throw to the tight ends more.

Sit Dural and dupri a quarter or 2 and maybe they'll get the message. Go get the ball and hang on to it.

reggie ball was there with calvin johnson, which is essentially like playing in the triple option. chan gailey was hc. good system with a bad qb. like worse than jj bad. dude threw out of bounds to avoid a sack.

4) Good route running and catching every ball thrown your way, will create MORE opportunities for you.

(If you do not create separation and squander your chances, LF (and the rest of the RBs) will get those touches).

James Wright plays for the Bangles and didn't have a catch his senior season. NFL goes more off measurables, character and potential more than college stats...

agree. Catching passes in a gimmicky offense is a sugar high. You will eventually get exposed when you go to the next level. Steel sharpens steel and scouts know that. Generally, the best at anything have had to take the dirt road to get there.

They're also getting tape of you when you're dogging routes and dropping open passes because you didn't take your "rent a win" opponent seriously, so remember that too.

Lack of passing has additional effects on the team.

The QB and receivers are worried of a mess up that may delay a pass play being called again.

The receivers don't get an opportunity to settle their excitement when a opportunity presents itself because its rare.

Recruiting will be affected by lack of utilization and effectiveness of these key positions.

Run all day will work against most teams with our talent but will fall short against teams that are vying for a playoff birth.

Cant wait to throw a pass when you have no choice but to do so.
