Jada Richard was never worked into playing time. Hope she stays, but wouldn't blame her if she left for a better opportunity for playing time. Very surprised at her lack of playing time, but that's the mo of KM at Baylor with top freshmen that saw no playing time, and it's followed her to LSU. In blow out games during the beginning of the season bench players see little action.

No the 2nd quarter when Betts was out was the difference in this game. When Betts is out a whole quarter and our best players still couldn’t get going and we reverted to the perimeter defense we were playing in Jan and Feb….that’s why we lost. We basically played them even in the 2nd half with Betts in there even with the fouls we had to commit at the end. You can’t let them have life in the 2Q…..had to go for the kill there and we couldn’t get it done.

HVL was not a great shooter for us. The only thing she did last year was take shots away from players who are better than her.
Our offense doesn’t cater to outside shooting.

If FlauJae comes back, which I think she will, we could be much better next year depending on the freshman. SaMyah found herself in the tourney. We need 2 more down low and a PG. If Richard makes some strides too we could pretty good.

I’d love to think we’ll be better next year, but replacing Aneesah will be a huge task. She was an absolute monster down the stretch, today not withstanding

This may be tougher than finding a legit PG. I hope Kim can find someone via portal that can at least give 8 and 6 down low. Hopefully Grace Knox lives up to billing as well.

Yes , but the point of the post was in response to your comment that HVL is still in playing while LSU is headed back to the boot. She has not advanced any further than LSU at this point. She is still “playing” because her game is tomorrow instead of today. Yes I guarantee that Texas wins tomorrow. Write it down. Take a picture. Build a fricking fortress around it for all I care . Her greatest accomplishment here came in the best 3pt shooting game of her tenure. It’s completely necessary at every level.

Yesterday was brick city for 2 qtrs. Kim needs that 6' 6 or 7 elite big.
looking back on it, she should have used Jersey and D Rosario a little more to just push Betts around and get herself in deeper foul trouble. If both fouled out trying - no big deal. Use Smith with Betts on the bench. Betts is an elite big. A little better shooting and Betts on the bench and we are in this game till the end. On the other hand, I think we all knew final 4 was a stretch for this team. Elite 8 is not bad though. I hope the SEC can bring home the NC.
