Will never happen again. For any of the major sports at an any school.
Ever

That’s very unique and says a lot about our resources and our passion to win at this school and compete for titles.

Would be another amazing story for Football if BK can have another successful season and make a run at another football title.
That would be 4 coaches in Football in less than 25 years.
Aight aight I’m ahead of myself but we gotta another ride waiting for us this year in football.
Fun to be a damn Tiger

11 NC and two runner up in 33yrs…
Throw in a Final Four and WCWS and it’s definitely been a great ride…
That’s playing for a NC once every three years…in something…
Not bad…not bad at all…
Not to mention, the coaches and players all support each other…

Might as well throw in women's track and field N.C. 1987 to 1997. How is this not the best run ever that never gets brought up ? Older then 25 years just very impressive. Plus 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012.

Smoke ruined the streak. Otherwise it would be 3 in a row in each sport

I know BK isn’t sweating.. but I wonder how much pressure he feels with Mulkey and jay coming in and winning a title almost instantly

He recruits well, but nothing like Jay and Mulkey. I think it’ll take him a little longer to win a championship.

Different animal and honestly we have no idea about year 2 Kelly, he absolutely floored it last year 10-4 record very very easily could have been a 12-2 record without fsu and aTm fiascos.

I have little doubt that Kelly will be in a national title game in 5 years or so. Now if he wins idk. That’s different

Why Skip let Pat walk IMO. His 23 titles from 89-04 out of 32 opportunities was only bettered by John McDonnell from Arkansas as most dominant T&F coaches on the collegiate level. Like Skip, there wasn’t the competition like there is now. If you want to win, you went to Arkansas if you were a guy or LSU if a woman.

It tickles me how many ways people want to slice up a good pie instead of just eating it.

Wouldn’t call baseball a fringe sport.

In fact college baseballs trajectory is heading North thanks to the pace of play now and our Tigers who seemingly make sports more exciting, hence the amount of viewership we receive.

If only we could add a field hockey and lacrosse team and win then we could get that directors cup.

If we want to include track in the same time period

Women's Indoor Track 9 NC Winner, 4 NC Runner Up
Women's Outdoor Track 11 NC Winner, 2 NC Runner Up
Men's Indoor Track 2 NC Winner, 2 NC Runner Up
Men's Outdoor Track 2 NC Winner, 4 NC Runner Up

So Women 20 NC, 6 Runner Up
Men 4 NC, 6 runner Up

Most of those are Pat Henry with a couple being Dennis Shave. Unfortunately for LSU Pat Henry continued winning at A&M after his departure from LSU. I don't know specifics here but some on this board can comment about that I am sure.

ETA: Corrected a couple of numbers, they are Bold and italicized

Agree Baseball and Womens BB have pulled in top ranked classes BK still needs to pull bigger fish if he is going to compete for NC's.

What do you think I’m referring to as “big 3?”

Smoke laval took his team back to back in Omaha in 03 and 94 but went two and q. Had some good teams too just ran into some juggernauts. Rice owls for instance with that crazy pitching staff. Humber niemann and Townsend.
