He obviously had one too many concussions.

Exactly...Brennan gonna surprise.

Georgia was ranked 15th to start the season last year

Basketball no concussions.
So you think that when Miles was here we had the best offensive lines possible ? I will stop and listen . Maybe I am missing something. Seemed to me that every year we were talking about how Oline was weak link I think a lot of times it was that they were undersized.

Both lines declined under Miles, especially the Dline

There's a lot of area between not being SEC caliber and having the best possible line. Those are the two extremes you've created.

That's what I kind of think also. When is last time opponent knew we were going to run and couldn't stop us ? Besides A@M .?

“When Miles was here”
Miles hasn’t been here for 21 games. This season, good or bad, is all on Coach O.

You do realize that O just lost to State by the widest margin in the entire history of that series and lost a bowl game when he was the favorite right?
The lost to Moo State was because we didn't have any depth behind the key starters that were out for that game. Unless you want to believe that Dave Aranda is a piss poor DC. And it wasn't O who created that lack of depth problem, but it was O who inherited that situation from Les Miles. Hence, you haters can continue to blame O for that situation, but I will blame Les Miles for that situation since O inherited that issue from Les Miles.
We lost the Notre Dame bowl Game only because of a lucky fluke play on the last play of the game, just like the N.O. Saints lost that playoff game to Minnesota on a lucky fluke play on the last play of the game. Nevertheless, everyone could see LSU had the better team on the field that day.
Indeed, it's only haters that use that bowl game to demonize O. Just like the same haters demonized O with that fluke Florida lost the year before.
Sure he took a field goal on a fourth down at the one-yard line, but that also was the reason why we were ahead until that last lucky fluke play too.

How is any of this our Coaches fault? If anything he's the one that has helped to build this thing into a future power. These things don't happen over night. You plug in your players, fight for wins, until you have a stacked roster, ready to compete for Championships. This roster was in bad shape when he took over period. We had some make believe QBs, WRs were young, OL was weak, DL was worse, and we didn't have LBers to speak of.
You morons keep talking about rankings and yet Micah Baskerville and Racey McMath, (2) 3* players are the ones who are showing out above the big time 4 and 5* guys. It's not all about rankings and Stars. To some degree it is and LSU has those guys. When you have those guys then you can go out and recruit others who you think can get the job done, damn the rankings.
This class was loaded with talent in 2018 but you idiots will keep harping on the rankings. Their play on the field is what I'll rank them on and this class has some solid players across the board.

7-5 is a very fair prediction. I tend to go that or under. Think it all comes crashing down on alleva and orgeron this fall.

Was just a joke
Yes, our offensive line could have been a lot better. But to say that he never recruited big uglies that weren't SEC worthy is a ridiculous statement. Miles had a lot of flaws, but recruiting wasn't one of them imo.

Most disappointing but first in our hearts...

“ how is any of this our coaches fault?”
There is absolutely no good excuse for a program such as LSU to lose to a SBC team or to get hammered by a average Mississippi State team. Neither one of those programs are more talented than LSU.
Recruiting rankings have always been used as a measurement for recruiting success. Is it the begin all and end all? Of course not, but to suddenly decide that it has no value is just silly.
It’s amusing to watch those goalposts always on the move.

It will all depend on how these games are played out. Also if you look at LSU the last few years, we have struggled in the RZ or GL situations. If LSU and staff can figure out ways to get into the endzone just once or twice more per game, LSU will win these tough matchups more than not and 9-3 could very well happen. Depending on how the QBs progress, we could be looking at a better season than that.
The defense is loaded, with the corner position being the weakest link. Yes it was a huge mistake missing on CBs in this last class but lesson learned. That was the only flaw I saw from last year. We won those games last year without a consistent FG kicker which will also be fixed in 2018.
Orgeron and this staff really needs to land around 3 very good HS CBs AND land 2 JUCO or transfers that can be plugged to play right away. We don't want to be strong at every position in 2019 but so weak at CB that we lose some games simply bc of what happened in 2018. That would be a travesty and so they need to be looking that far into the future NOW.
I think Kirkland, Greedy, and Vincent can get the job done this year with the transfer and Joseph providing the depth we will need. Joseph is a very good player, strong, aggressive, and smart. Our coaches will simply need to do their best job of making sure we aren't weak in this area. Our front seven should provide some help in 2018 as well.
While many are in doom and gloom mode, you're likely going to miss one of the funnest seasons in a long time. The offense will be throwing the ball this year. The front seven could put so much pressure on opposing QBs that it makes our CBs jobs much more easy. Stay on your man while getting that head around for the hurried throw. With the big ole boys in the middle, it will be tough to run on this front. It's going to be the biggest front we've had since 2003. Aranda will now have the depth to play two different types of defense. A lighter quicker type of D or a bigger stuffing type of D.
I guess I can just see through the bullshite on here, and refuse to follow the crowd. Even if I'm the only one supporting my Tigers, I'll be here enjoying the season. The players are confident and I'm with them. GT
