Not happening.

I think LSU or Clemson will try to get out of that game. Both BK and DS
need to win an opener and are felling heat from the fans.LSUs sec
schedule is hard enough to get through without having to start again with
a top 10 -20 game.

Yeah that be a rough environment if underwood is qb1. Thankfully having Durham, and adding #1 rb gives some nice weapons for him to not feel like it's all on him.

We'll have woodland, stamps, Alexander, oh st kids depth wise, so they can work Pickett in as he earns the playing time. Woodland was in same spot this yr, and stamps and Hughes the year before. 6'4 #1 cb, if that's our worst case scenario, I'll take it.

Maybe when Kelly proves he can win a season opener.

No chance in hell. This year will be his best work. He's not coming back to get killed behind an o-line with 4 first time starters. You're kidding yourself if you think that's happening.

I saw one or two mocks that especially if Nuss continues to put up numbers he could sneak in the 1st round. I wouldn't be too sure. I hope he does though.

That’s a good point having a stud like Durham to lean on at back and Harlem berry will help underwood deal with that Clemson environment. Plus security blankets at TE in green and pimpton

Alexander coming back would be great for our depth I assumed this year was his last year of eligibility but if not that would be a great return to have a steady vet in the room. Even if he doesn’t return we’re def building some nice depth in the room where we don’t have to throw Pickett out there if he’s not ready but like you said having to play a 6’4 5 star cb with 10.6 100 meter speed is the definition of a good problem to have lol. If he is ready to go Pickett and stamps (if zy does indeed declare after this season ) with woodland potentially playing inside would be a potentially dynamic cb trio .

Absolutely Pickett would be the most physically gifted cb we’ve had since Stingley. On paper him and stamps on the boundary with woodland moving inside is a rlly strong backend

Need to reschedule that Clemson series and schedule a patsy for opener. BK has sufficiently shown he needs game film to evaluate his team and is short-skilled in doing so based on camp.

We found out the dates for 2024 in Dec of 2023. It will be by then if not sooner. They used to released in Sept but now we have to deal with ABC/ESPN. We don't have a 4th OOC opp yet but I wouldn't be surprised if thats not nailed down by the end of the Big10/SEC meetings in a few weeks.

...and how do you propose they cancel this game less than a year away, also accounting for the return date to LSU ?
Don't see that happening

This would make more sense

You can’t just do that if you want. There are rules for week 0 games

I thought I heard somewhere that each sec team would be rotating OU and TX for the first 2 years they are new to the conference. Maybe I misheard.
So we would get OU two years in a row and South Carolina two years in a row? That’s odd.

Clemson will be down

We have a very favorable schedule next year.
1. Clemson will NOT be down, and will likely be better than they are now. I expected the offense to improve, but this looks like pre DJ U Clemson. Their offense should be even better next year. This reminds me of the same thing that happened when UGA cleaned Oregon's clock 2 years ago.

2. Our schedule is harder next year. Sure, Ole Miss will lose a metric ton, but Clemson will be better than USC was, and we play AT Clemson, not some NFL stadium closest to Clemson. We get a WAY better Oklahoma squad next year on the road. Trust me, i have been right about Oklahoma for several years now including this year. They are bringing back a squad. We get Bama on the road next year, they'll be replacing a QB, so it will be more of a pocket passer and easier to handle, but their offense will still be great. Florida might have Lane Kiffin. We play them at home, but think of Kiffin with Lagway and some top tier transfer WRs?

3. There is a high likely possibility we are starting a true freshman at QB, 4 new OL (1-2 will likely be true freshman), a new TE who has to improve blocking, 1 returning starter from the DL, 1 LB with any real experience, still some inexperienced (Woodland, Foster, true freshman) and some mediocre (JK and Jyaire) corners outside of Stamps, and whatever the hell we are doing at safety will hopefully be better. We bring back Allen, Gilbert, Toviano, Jackson, and Spears, so I think we can find 3 good ones there. It all depends on how they look the rest of this year.

Next year I'm expecting 8-4 and hoping we hit 9-3.

Agreed Clemson will be very tough next year. They have a lot of young talent on both sides of the football. Their wr room next year will look like the Clemson of old. Bryant wesco and tj moore are legit studs at wr and only true freshman their gonna be a tough duo to go against.

Ngl I’m not gonna worry about lane to FL until it happens but if he does go there it’s gonna take a couple years fl has a lot of work to do esp on the defensive side of the fb. But yea the road schedule is tuff but ngl im looking forward to Pickett vs Ryan Williams

There’s some truth to this but I actually think the defense is much deeper and more talented next year despite the youth. The cb room has a chance to be a classic lsu corner room.DJ Pickett is a Stingley /Peterson level talent he’s gonna be a day 1 stud, stamps is improving and pj woodland I think will be a dog. Dj pickett and Ashton stamps on the boundary with pj woodland at Nickel is a potentially excellent cb trio. The safety room is a question no doubt but I think spears will be a very good safety for us the question is who emerges next to him especially if Gilbert is gone. Im still high on guys like kylin Jackson. The lb room has a chance go be very good I think weeks will be a stud and we have some explosive young sideline to sideline guys who will take the next steps in Atkins and singleton.

There is a chance we start a true freshmen but this isn’t your typical true freshmen this is a generational type talent. I expect dylan raiola type impact with underwood and we have even more talent around Bryce than dylan has at Nebraska rn.

8-4 or 9-3 would be an absolute disappointment with the depth and talent we’re gonna have next year
