Here are the stats compiled from Scubas posts of the scrimmages.

Hitting is sorted by OBP and pitching is sorted by WHIP. As I've said in the past, my WHIP includes HBP for pitcher. Technically that isn't correct but I like to include it to have a better idea of all base runners allowed per inning.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Josh Pearson should not be a starter for this team.

Was Larson dinged up? He killed it at the Cape. Didn’t expect him to hit sub .200

I agree. I have been waiting for him to take that next step, but I think he's just who he is. A streaky hitter that fit well on a team of stars in '23. Curiel is the type of next level player that we need to start having in our lineup. He's young, but that dude is just a higher level player.

I know Jay loves him and will find a reason to get him in the lineup. But I don't see how you justify having him in there every day. OF is crowded with Brown, Stanfield, Curiel, and Larson.

Catcher will be a logjam with Arrambide, Priester, and Hernandez. Jay seems high on all three. One of them will likely DH.

He's getting on base (.453) and putting the ball in play. Eventually, the balls will find the hole.

I still want him to be the midweek starter with a pitch count minimum (and obviously maximum) each week. Get him to 75 pitches in the first midweek game and go up from there. And hope over the course of the year that the innings count increases and pitches per inning shrinks.

Cut off seems to be Casan Evans as far as pretty good to great fall performances on mound. That's 11 guys.

The bottom guys are all projects in one way or another.

Evans is really good. 3 of his 6 ER were in his first appearance in the scrimmages. Kind of the same with Schmidt where 4 of his 7 ER was in the first scrimmage. After that first one they both really settled in. I'm expecting those 2 to be the future of the pitching staff while still contributing real big this season.

Maverick Rizy is another freshman in that boat. Curious to see the roles those 3 play this season.

7 bombs in the fall is kinda wild. Im starting to think that Larson might be the odd man out which I think would be terrible. That’s just crazy pop to leave on the bench.

He might very well not be. But I’ll also wait until I see some of the other guys play before making that declaration.

His stats were worse last fall. Nothing to be concerned about at this point.
