I think Brian Kelly is going to make a big splash in year 1 and put together a bit of a revenge tour for us. Arky, Ole Miss, and Auburn are going down. Kelly signed a decent recruiting class in a short amount of time that included a lot of instant impact transfer players. We will be surprisingly good ,and our team is criminally underrated.

I think the single biggest splash he could make short of winning the SEC West is beating Bama in Tiger Stadium. I don’t think it will happen but boy would that get his LSU career off to a fantastic start. Geaux Tigers

We are capable of beating anyone or losing to anyone on our SEC schedule and that includes Bama. That’s why predictions are all over the map. Being significantly more organized and structured is worth another 1-2 wins compared to last year as long as we’re healthy.

Our roster looks stacked on paper. Not sure why we’re seeing so many Debbie Downer predictions like this. Lots of people are prisoners of the moment I guess because of how we did last year under Orgeron.

Are you referencing we’re going 8-4 or revenge on the Texas 8-4 Aggies?

Either way, dumb fricking post

8-4 with this schedule isn’t bad for first year

I don’t think you can say we’ll be better than most teams we face based on talent alone. That’s what I think will get in the way.

If 2006 LSU can go 11-2, then 2022 LSU can. We’re almost as good on paper

Because LSU has too many unknowns in almost every single position group except DL. When you have that many unknowns it's hard to see it all come together. It would seem Vegas agrees and they're even more debbie downer than this board. Vegas is not driven by emotion like fans are on here they use data to make their predictions. Don't look at Vegas if you think this board is debbie downer. I think they have us at 6 wins but it was actually initially 5. Schedule, new coaching staff, too many unknowns.

Some of you on this board are going to melt like a bitch hard when LSU loses 4 games or more. Stupid comments like above me with unrealistic expectations. Even BK is telling you to calm down on this season. He said we're at least 2-3 years away. That's telling you everything you need to know on the expectations for this season. You don't rebuild a program in months and BK is in full rebuild mode after the state Orgeron left it in.

8-4 aren’t the Debbie downers.
We aren’t stacked on paper. We are competitive on paper. We have 2 position groups that are proven above the average SEC west competition. That’s it. Everything else is question marks. You probably need to take you P&G glasses off if you think 8-4 is pessimistic for this season.

I’m not saying LSU is going 8-4, but what I will say is that it’s very possible to do better or worse than that prediction.

Although BK is in a much better position with LSU in his first year than Saban was with Bama, there is still going to be an organic culture shock for the program. There is no stopping this for a first year head coach like BK. It may even be very painful, but it is what is needed for future success.

With that being said, I will watch this season as I always do - by getting drunk with my friends and family all while yelling at the TV and uncontrollably screaming GEAUX TIGERS every chance I get.

We do have a ton of talent, but we are also still lacking a lot of depth in key positions like O line and D Backs. I am cautiously optimistic, but I am expecting an 8-4 season. I am very happy with the Kelly hire and the staff he has put together. I am expecting big things within 3 years

Our o-line is going to surprise a lot of people.
We have good talent and experience. Depth at wide out, d-line, linebacker, QB, and o-line.

That 2006 team had 4 players go in the first round of the draft that year and the rest of the team were the key members of the 2007 national championship team.
