I really wish Labas would come back. I know he doesn't have the jump off the screen stuff, but he could be a vary valuable Friday night guy next year while the young pups gain more experience. If Hilliard comes back, he could be the Saturday guy...or we'll need someone on Saturday not currently on the roster. I like our young arms, but I still don't know if any will be ready for a Friday or Saturday slot by next year.

I don't think the incoming coach need to get a bunch of new player, just develop the ones we have and get them playing their best. We have a bunch of pitchers coming back that have shown sign of brilliance, but at other times struggle to throw strikes and get guys out.

I would agree, for the most part. If we lose too many pitchers, we may need some insurance on the mound...the juco guys and freshman coming in may not be the answer (maybe they are). And, our returning arms may not be ready for SEC starts. Then you have the situation at catcher - if Milazzo doesn't turn the corner, you're looking at Wyeth and Travinski who haven't really been serviceable behind the plate or proven capable of hitting SEC pitching.

Who is ready to be that guy? I know we don't need that answer yet, but it would sure help to know you have a vet ready to take on that role.

He doesn't have Friday night stuff, but he can eat those innings and give the bats a chance.

Maybe Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker will leave Vanderbilt and improve their draft status with LSU.

That’s the difference this team won’t have an ace.

Honestly, I saw enough out of Edwards and Coleman this year to believe either one could be developed into a Friday night guy. I saw enough to doubt that diagnosis, too, but both of them have high-level SEC stuff without a doubt.

Of course, we don't know what Edwards will look like health-wise after that business with his forearm on Sunday. I'm assuming it's not serious and he'll be OK, but that remains to be seen.

Then there's the use of pitchers and what that does to the effectiveness of some of these kids we don't currently think much of. You had some pretty rough decisions made by the coaching staff and some kids put in positions to fail this year; I wonder if maybe you had guys with confidence issues who might look totally different with a fresh coaching staff.

It's really just fun to think what it'll look like next year. There's no doubt this thing had gotten VERY stale the past 2-3 years. My guess is the change will be good for everybody.

The guy who makes sense to try there is Bianco, because you'd like to have his leadership in the lineup (and his bat, if he's going to build on the 2nd half of this year), and he has some baseball knowledge and some moxie that might translate.

But I don't know if his arm is any good. If he can't throw a runner out, then forget it.

If 1-8 can hit, Milazzo’s defense is worth having him look to walk/bunt every AB

Ty Floyd if he develops off speed pitches could end up a front line starter.

Merci beaucoup!

I miss LSU baseball already and can't wait for next season.

By what date will we know who's off to the next level?

The draft is about a month away. I think they still have to sign by a month after that but I'm not sure on that. They may have less time to sign. There is also a July 1 deadline to enter the portal to ensure immediately eligibility I think.

There are a lot of new deadlines and roster rules that I haven't figured out yet.

Theo Millas made his summer debut tonight in the Perfect Game league. Two scoreless with 1 hit and 2 Ks for the Saugerties Stallions. 7 batters faced over two innings.

Have no idea how roster mgmt will go
If July 1 is portal deadline teams won’t know status of their draft picks
Players would be entering portal would not know if a team would have room for them especially if roster stays at the 35 with 11.7

Tenn had a 46 player roster this year

Millas and Fowler could be really good. They can throw multiple pitches for strikes, location has been meaty. Floyd can flick it but he had no command of any pitch. It should be interesting to see how each evolves (or not). Money showed flashes, too.

Dugas was dropped from the summer roster, which is in line with the LSU article.

Safford was activated today for the Charlottesville TomSox.

Cranford now on the Florida League Snappers’ roster.
