LSU would beat both of those teams by 20...neither could keep up offensively

You do realize neither of those teams played a conference championship game or a semi finals game. So add two more ranked teams

Don’t be delusional. 20 points? I think LSU is better than both but to say any of those three teams is the run away best team is delusional.

So you could potentially add two losses to both of them...

I’m wondering if LSU can break Miami’s record of first round draft picks. I think they had 7.

I think Miami would not be able to keep up, but Nebraska on the other hand... You have to remember that Florida had one of the most dominant teams ever and Nebraska beat them like a drum and posted 62 on them. Even though they ran the option, they never gave up 1 sack the entire season. They were a machine on offense.

You may want to go watch that Nebraska Florida title game before you say that.

The freaking Nebby team was scarry good on offense and defense. I would love to see that match-up. It would be an epic battle.

It's a different era. Both of those teams were dominant against the teams they played. Just like we were.

If you add in a conference championship game against a ranked opponent and a semifinal game against #4.... their schedules would look very similar to ours.

Let's just say these are the 3 most accomplished teams in the history of college football.

I’m sure in 2045 they’re going to be asking this same question about the 2019 team. Hard to compare different eras.

Well laid out.

This. I went back and watched it on youtube a few weeks and Nebraska is terrifying. Extremely difficult to say who would win if they played against 2019 LSU because the game has changed so much. Would their DB's be allowed to molest our receivers like they were allowed to in the 90's? Is targeting enforced?

Personally I see it being a shootout. Our defense is speedy but would have tremendous difficulty stopping their roided up triple option attack, and their D would be perplexed by LSU's modern spread.

As impressive as the OP graphic appears, the LSU opponents' rank in that list is a hybrid AP-CFP blend. It's easy to forget the LSU-Alabama game was the first game in history between an AP #1 and Coaches #1. The CFP rankings undersell that.

I was wondering about those rankings, but figured they were all AP at the time they played because 2001 Nebraska was #2 in the BCS but 4 in the two human polls, which is what's listed on that graphic.

It's crazy to think that the BigXII was once a conference from which teams got the benefit of the doubt despite not winning, and actually getting whipped in, their conference championship games (Nebraska in '01 and Oklahoma in '03). My how things have changed!

And, also, to be fair you'd have to at the very least speculate one to two additional games for both '95 Nebraska and '01 Miami to account for the expansion of conference championship games everywhere and the current semifinal & final playoff format (which would mean another top 4 opponent).

I agree.

Nebraska was built to stop the run. Burrow would slaughter them.

Miami Qb Dorsey is a sitting duck they relied on the run to set up the past. LSU defense would slaughter them.

Did not realize how weak Dorsey stats were.

I remember vividly no one thought Nebraska should be in the BCS CG against Miami. They were basically our OU of 2019. And the game result proved it.

It was a huge joke and a stain on the BCS. Read here:

Oregon belonged in that game, but they weren't part of the national elite yet, and the Pac-10 wasn't highly regarded, so they got no push in the polls.

People were even arguing for 2-loss Colorado to play Miami until they got their face kicked in by Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl.
