Is the past year rankings preseason or post rankings?

Without doing my own research, I find it really hard to believe we’re behind 12 other teams in schedule difficulty this year

So the narrative of a "historically difficult " schedule is bullshite? I would have never guessed it but yep it's more preemptive excuses

Post, obviously. Unfortunately, we don’t have post season rankings for this year yet because the season hasn’t been played. I didn’t think I needed to explain that. Obviously, that ranking can and almost certainly will move either up or down.

That completely doesn’t jive with opponents preseason rankings or strength of opponents opponents.

If you don't think this sos is a joke just look at the schedules some of these teams compared to LSU.

We play the hardest schedule in the country hands down this season it's not even close. We play the two teams that were in the national championship game last season plus Miami Plus Auburn plus the rest of the SEC West which is the hardest division in all of college football

This is simply based on opponents winning % from last year

I'd like to see another team that plays the two teams that played in the national championship game, the team that beat both teams that played in the national championship game and another top 10 ranked team. The only teams that could possibly match that would be another SEC West team who plays a top 10 OOC opponent.

I would like to know what criteria are they using because it makes no sense at all if you peruse the schedules. Certainly preseason ranking didn't play a part in it

Auburn has a much tougher schedule.

It’s the NCAA’s SOS. I agree that it doesn’t use the best methodology, but it’s pretty difficult to gauge SOS preseason.

Our schedule is pretty top loaded. We play 2 teams that are more talented than we are. We play another 2 teams that probably have the same or similar talent as us. Everybody else on our schedule is less talented than we are.

Reading isn’t that hard man. It’s right there in this article. This is the way the NCAA ranks SOS.

This. It has very little to do with actual “strength of schedule”

A pivotal fact like that is worth putting in the OP and not making people go look for it.

But the schedule is so tough is the main excuse that will be used if O doesn’t get 10 wins

If you take a step back and look at the schedule, of course it's difficult. But, there's only one true road game that's a tough game. All of the others are at home and one neutral site game against what many on this board call an overrated Miami team. This is in no way a tougher schedule than LSU has been playing the last decade or so. We play 7 teams (including Ole Miss) that have a a new coach.

in 2015, that was the final ranking. Les won 9 with the McNeese game cancelled. So 10 -11 wins or GTFO.
