Perspective. This was lighthearted banter in which the questioner was not personally roasting him. It was a joke.
Whether last night was a joke or not, it just came off bad (magnified) because of the question, the situation that the program is in, and they way the product on the field has not only performed, but looked completely uncoached. Just chalk it up to Ed lacking self awareness. He's always been that way.

All of y’all need to set up a protest in front of the athletic administration building today! We cannot let our head football coach go around threatening to murder everyone who insults him. Hopefully y’all will garner some national attention and expose this monster.
