Feels more like 2007 to me. Great defense, good rushing offense, and a QB that can manage the game

Too bad you could kind of see it coming with perriloux. JJ ,as far as I know, was a stand up human before using a guy's head as a soccer ball.

I don't think our schedule is as tough. Florida, Bama and Georgia were legit top 10 teams. Ole Miss was also really good. So I don't think we lose 5 conference games.

Dude. My Oregon prediction is our defense arse hammering their qb in the first qtr. Carried out on a stretcher. So nah, it ain't 08.

In no way, shape, form or fashion does this resemble 2008.

If LSU would have had a defense in 2008 Lee would not have had to throw so much to try and keep up with the other team. The defense was the real reason for his ints.It made the coaching staff have to call more passing plays to try to catch up everytime the offense took the field.Thats very hard to do when you have a third string QB who didnt practice with the first string and was still too young and inexperienced to do that not to mention not ready to take over then.

STFU with all that logic

If you agree with this guy, Lacour, you're an even worse poster than I thought.

Yeah, it's just like 2008. Other than the fact the we've brought most of our defense back along with out defensive coordinator and have a 5th year senior at quarterback. This team is loaded and, like others have said, feels more like the 2007 team.

I wouldn't mind the O we had in 2008. Aside from the turnovers, that team put up some damn points. Eliminate the turnovers and this team is set. D is 10x better than the '08 D, and I think it is pretty clear that Chavis >>>>>>> Mallveto

Miles pulls off 1 double digit win season out of the last 4, some people going to be pissed about that 18.7 million golden parachute to get rid of him.

Everything with this program is on his head the last 4 years. Every player, every coach, etc

The defense is said to be the strongest it has been in years possibly stronger

Heres all you need to know about that
quote:

24.2 - 2008 ppg allowed
16.2 - 2009 ppg allowed
18.2 - 2010 ppg allowed

And what was Lee capable of?
quote:

30.9 - 2008 ppg scored

Lee doesnt even have to be improved. If we can get those same numbers, with the defense holding teams under 20 ppg, then Mett will be able to get plenty of PT to prepare for next yr.

I'd have to disagree. LSU fans were cautiously optimistic regarding what kind of team we would field following the NC, but were not as optimistic once the Perrilloux thing happened.

Prior to the season, we knew that we were going to start a QB who had never taken a meaningful snap (Hatch) or one of two others who had never seen the field at all. Plus, the fan base was apprehensive about the fact that we didn't have a defensive coordinator. The decision by Miles was questioned from the very beginning, especially considering we had just won an NC and he chose not to seek out someone with experience.

We now have experience at the QB position... plus we have what could be our best defense in a really long time led by one of the best defensive coaches in college football, in the third year of his system here at LSU. On paper we're much better off now.
