That 2019 offense could score on anyone at will. Too many weapons spreading the field

1. He was a sophomore. 2. 23/34 for 234 and 0 TDs. They weren't "carved up" in that game at all.

Compare those stats to our senior quarterback who has been starting for years.

I bet those stats look carved up now.

See my post above. You people need to revisit that game. Bama's scoring drives: 5 plays - 20 Yards (FG) 11 plays - 58 yards (FG) 9 plays - 52 yards (FG) 6 plays - 50 yards (FG) 6 plays - 20 yards (FG) 4 plays - 50 yards (TD) *34 yard rushing TD LSU didn't get beat "right over the top" at any point in the night. Alabama had 1 play that went over 30 yards, and it was a rush

Yeah people forget how good the defense really was that game.

But it’s because the offense was THAT BAD.

Also remember that Auburn 2019 held us to 23 points at home

Weather and field conditions are what kept that game close.

Head on over to SECRant, those clowns think the 1995 Nebraska team that ran the ball every play would beat the crap out of 2019 LSU and Nebraska is the greatest team ever. It’s like they didn’t watch the 2019 season or they would know,no matter who it was, nobody was going to outscore Burrow an the boys,

And AL never had to go more than 58 yards because our inept offense could not get into AL territory with their attempt to grind it out just like in Game 1.

The correct answer is the 2019 office and I don't think it's close.

We saw teams score (sometimes) on 2011. We never saw anyone stop 2019.

You would need a monster pass rush and absolutely elite DBs to have a chance.

Things that are both true of the 2011 Defense.

2019 LSU team beat 7......yes 7 top 10 teams. 6 of those teams finished the season in the top 15. Tell me, how was 2011 schedule harder?

2019 would have their way with 2011 on both sides of the ball. 2011 D would keep it honest in the first half, but the 2019 D would not have issues with the 2011 offense.

2019-31
2011-13

I loved that 2011 defense but that’s was a different era of offenses. That 2011 team didn’t face many pass heavy spread teams like the 2019 team and definitely none that could pick you apart like burrow did. I’d have to give the edge to 2019 just based on matchups alone. Coaches that 2019 team played even said there was no way to truly stop that offense. Auburn played them best after showing a totally different look that took burrow a while to figure out. Even then, he put up a lot of yards, just didn’t get into the end zone

And? I didn’t say anything about the offense.

I was addressing your erroneous statement that the defense kept getting beat over the top in the national title game.

People forget how dominant that defense was because 21-0 looks like a blowout.
