The only person on that site who is ranked ahead of him and has a legit shot is Pryor.

I thought the coaches have already commented there is a possibility of PP getting offensive reps.

I think he has a damn good shot to atleast make it to NY.

Suh should have won it last year so I doubt they give it to a defensive guy this year.

It would be awesome just for a LSU player to make it to NY.

Coach Miles made a comment about it in his weekly press conference saying it is a possibility. Take it for what it's worth.

I agree. Suh made it last year, so if PP7 continues to perform this way, then it's definitely a legit shot!

I agree Suh should've won. Although I won't take anything away from Ingram, I think Suh deserved it as well.

But the fact that ESPN is hyping Peterson like this already, I say there is a good chance of him remaining in these talks as long as he continues to perform like this

I remember him cramping on D, but seemed much later in the game after Randle had returned a few kicks.

Woodson also only had 283 return yards that year! PP7 only needs 26 yards returning to match that!!

Woodson also had:

-231 yards receiving on 11 catches, with 2 TDs.
-15 yards rushing on 3 attempts, with 1 TD.
-8 INTs.

And I can't find the numbers for his tackles and sacks, but I'm sure he had a few

The most important stat...He went to Michigan!

Needs to happen. Just as a decoy he would tie up a decent defender.

That one return Randle had, it looked like if he makes a little cut at the end, he takes it to the house. Of course, that's the one that got called back for block in the back, but still. Our special teams is always solid

(except I have no clue what was up with Jasper the other day... first game jitters I believe)

Does it piss off anyone else that they posted that PP was getting an IV? Wouldn't that let UNC know to maybe wear him out a little bit?

Maybe I'm looking too into this but I think that shite should be private.

I agree, if we want to use him in that position, then that's cool too. But we all know he could make a play if we get the ball in his hands.

How about this:

Line up Russell Shep as QB in the shotgun, with Ridley at HB, and have PP7 at receiver or something. Wildcat

I see where you're coming from and I hadn't thought of that. But I believe UNC probably noticed he was headed into the locker room and probably deduced that.

But then again, was UNC really looking at the Facebook page during the game? Not sure. But I agree with you.

I think they might have someone checking it out.

Yes, they probably would figure it out but they may think he's getting and ankle wrapped, taking a pee/shite, etc. No need to announce things like that.

PP and Shep both have elite skills that you don't see every year. Use him while you got him. PP would definitely make a serious Heisman push if he was utilized on offense as well. I think the award is pretty illegitimate but it would bring publicity to the program.

They're world class athletes. I love watching LSU football so much. These guys just make it so fun.

I tend to agree. It's become a beauty pageant of sorts, but adding another trophy to the extensive collection we already have at this awesome school would be sweet

He was laughing though. He said yeah he can return all the kicks/punts, play D, and hey we'll get him 150 yards in receiving as well. He was smiling/laughing the entire time. I took it as just a joke.

not necessarily. Charles woodson only had one special teams TD in '97 when he won it (PP already has that). Woodson did have eight picks which most likely will not happen with PP, but if you give a little with the D, you can take some with the SpT etc..

Why can't JL be on a team we play

Yeah I thought it may have been just a facetious comment. Looked like he winked afterward.

It's not like we need him on offense with the multitude of weapons we have already. So yeah I don't know if we'll actually see it happen.

Check out this video where PP7 himself discusses this issue: LINK

This would be awesome! Man...... sure would be great if he wins it. He certainly has the skills!

Just thinking about it gets me pumped up! He freaking deserves it! He goes out there and he's lights out.

As good as Peterson is, the good news is that by having him back there on returns teams might gameplan to actually for once try and attack him on defense, by passing his way in an attempt to wear him down and get him to the sideline/locker-room.

Peterson will most likely get a couple of sacks this season as well, granted Chavis has him lined up right on the line of scrimmage in completely obvious blitz packages. I am sure some dumb/unaware quarterback will fail miserably to notice to his own peril.
