This is my first time posting a topic on here so be gentle, (or not).
Due to playing less opponents in regular season, will/should there be an asterisk if somehow LSU falls short of 8 wins?
I still think they’re capable of winning out...

I mean yes there should, but this is now a throwback to when going bowling actually meant you were a good team

Does winning the bowl game count?

Going into the season, the only two games I thought we had a chance of losing were Fla/Ala. 7-3 regular season with a bowl victory is still quite possible.

No chance we win 8 games this year, even with a bowl.

Kinda but the real reason everyone can go bowling

The NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee on Thursday recommended the removal of normal requirements that teams must meet in order to become bowl eligible. This would apply only to the 2020-21 bowl season.

College football teams must complete the regular season with a record of .500 or better in order to be considered bowl eligible. The oversight committee is recommending that requirement be waived this season as scheduled have been shortened and some teams may be unable to play in the postseason amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Is there an asterisk by LSU being the only team in SEC history to ever go 15-0?

People forget how bad LSU football was in the 80s and 90s. It was painful to watch and wasn’t fun but I did have some great times tailgating with my dad in the Kirby smith parking lot.

90/ baseball bailed them out

Why do you think they lowered the bar?

We got bowls to fill.

There were still 41 bowl games scheduled for the end of the 2020 season as of last month, even when just 76 teams were scheduled to participate in the 2020 season. Even with the Pac-12 and Big Ten now scheduled to play this year, filling all the bowl games with .500 teams would have have likely been impossible.

The 80s were not that bad. Orange, Sugar, Liberty, Gator, Hall of Fame... I mean compared to the 90s... But I get your point...

This team isn’t winning out. LSU will lose three more out of Bama, UF, Auburn, Aggie and Ole Miss.

I don’t expect Mizzou to be an easy game.

Just had the best season of all time.

The 8 win thing is a manipulated stat. Don’t really care about it.

Just being a realist… Based on what happened last weekend, the level of improvement that would need to occur in every facet of the team except Special Teams and maybe pass rush would need to improve exponentially to the point of miraculous.

I did not see a fundamentally sound team last week.

The biggest improvement we need to see is with the coaching...

In regard to the players, they need to do less marching across campus and more practicing on the field.
