Are we sure he can’t pass? They are saying he’s one dimensional. Why did he need to pass? We were physically dominated and we knew what was coming. They wanted to milk the clock and impose their will.

He can pass better than some think. It’s definitely helped by defenses focusing on stopping the run and getting some long passes over the top without safety help. When starting he was making 20 something attempts a game and has only completed 55% of his passes so far, but he also hasn’t had an interception yet. He isn’t going to win in obvious passing situations like if they fall way behind, but while ahead or while game is close he makes enough passing plays to keep defenses honest.

Yeah. I was there. That was not fun

Mee too. The Florida fans actually felt sorry for LSU. It was that bad.

Our defensive line especially interior is not very good.

This was the worst half of football I've ever seen LSU play. This was worse than 2020. This was worse than any game of 1999.

The early 90s had worse on a weekly basis. Be glad you are too young to have watched those. It was a tough time to be a Tiger. 32-0 to Ole Miss, 30-6 to Arky, 58-3 to Florida. It was a dark time.

At least Ole Miss in ‘92 was on Tiger Vision, so most people did not have to endure it except listening on the radio.

Arky was 2-7-1 when we played them and we did not get inside their 30 yard line until midway through the fourth quarter. We barely avoided our third shutout of the year by scoring after they called off the dogs.

Who is responsible for preparing the team? To date, I am not favorably impressed with Brian Kelly's ability to prepare for specific opponents.
He had them prepared to shut down their QB1. It was QB2 we weren't prepared for.

Or ability to prepare for season openers.

idk about that but it's definitely the biggest gap between the first half and the second half I've ever seen. It's like we were going 75 down the interstate and immediately shifted into reverse

I was at the 44-3 game in Tiger stadium in 1988 where Miami and Steve Walsh came in and destroyed LSU. The weather was so bad it was like an actual hurricane blew through. It was bad but Murphy’s was fun after.

Short field given by Nuss mistakes definitely enabled it

Correct The issues are the failure or inability to adjust to a dual threat QB and the unwise forced passing attempts . Had Nuss thrown the ball away resulting in a punt then the score would have been quite different
Of course had our FG attempts been successful or had we scored 7 and not 3 in the first half multiple times then we would have secured an almost certain victory

That long pass he completed to kill LSU was a perfect bomb dropped in stride to the receiver. Herbstreet even said he’s seen him in practice and he can throw the football. He will be the starter moving forward unless he totally collapses.

Well then, just put in the backup when you’re losing. Why didn’t Kelly think of that?
