2 main reasons I kept an open mind on O during the bad times

1) Aranda spoke up for him publicly and turned down an Aggie Brinks truck full of cash to stay here and work with O. Yes, he says his family likes it here but if he didn’t respect O as a football coach he’d have found a way to take the money and run.
2) Moffit came out strong in support of O over Herman during “the search” in 2016. Moffit has worked under Saban and Miles and had a unique perspective about what kind of leader the program needed.
I didn’t see any reason why those guys went to bat for O if they saw LSU under him as a sinking ship. Either one could have taken great jobs elsewhere.

I like the fact that he has learned from the mistakes of his past.

Once Herman and Fisher were off the table, I looked at all the other names ranters were throwing out - Fedora, Morris, Fleck, etc. and decided CEO couldn't be any worse of a gamble so I gave it a wait and see approach. Hope O continues to have more success because that means good things for my Tigers.

You don’t see why Moffit would go to bat for O over another coach that would likely bring in his own S&C coach?
I can somewhat see the Aranda point, but Moffit has every reason to want coach O.

I’m very much enjoying the brand of football he is putting on the field, it’s refreshing, and the kids are buying in. Everyone thought we were doomed a few weeks ago when we had a players only meeting and we had some bad breaks with players leaving suspensions etc, but I think the players only meet was more of the leaders on the team rallying the troops and letting them know we aren’t going for all this shite talk about us this year, we are going to trust in the coaches and each other and we are going to go win fricking football games and drag our Nut sacks on the media for talking shite, I love this fricking team and attitude, we are about to be back playing for championships boys!.

So u didn’t see people saying malzahn, Fuente, Petersen, briles etc??? You only saw what you wanted to see. Lol.

Season is far from over.
I could see you and a lot of posters here turning on O after losses to Mississippi State and Georgia.

Malzahn? The guy that is 0-2 against O? Yes I saw Petersen but he was never coming. Briles? Really? Fuentes is the only good, realistic choice of those four but he had only been at Va Tech for one year so he wasn't coming either. The point being, of the realistic options LSU had, O was no bigger of a gamble than the rest.

yea, some of my best sales reps were guys that didn't do well in their first job. they learned and worked hard to improve. another reason I like O is that he actually ACTS to improve team shortcomings. examples....
+he went out and got tranfers when the team needed them
+he fired an OC knowing he would catch hell for it because he thought it best for the program
+he hired a safeties coach and ST coach and OL coach that seem to be very good coaches
+he pushed for and got analysts like bama has.
+his recruiting has been targeted to fit TEAM needs, not star ratings.
+I think he and his staff are damn good at evaluating talent.
+he has actually followed through on his promises to imprdove our offense.
Now, he talks funny (to some) and certainly isn't an intellectual but he IS a football coach. and he's not dumb by any stretch of the imagination like many on here say he is. but national football THAT KNOW ORGERON respect his football acumen.
no one is perfect; he will make more mistakes and i'm sure after everyone the haters will scream, throw tantrums and call him names.

other than Peterson there isn't a coach on your list i'd rather have than O. and you are naïve if you think every coach YOU like is even available. Peterson isn't leaving TCU (or Washington if he's the one you talk about).
Edit: Fuente is a damn good coach but wasn't leaving Tech right after being hired. I personally think you, and others, just his ole miss resume only and closed your minds on O. and you still may turn out to be correct in the long run but I don't think so

That's right, no one out there better than a DL guy who was an utter failure in his only head coach job.
The fact we have fans who actually believe that is more than a little shocking.

they prove my points about the majority of this board being football ignorant everyday. it is past comical.
yet they shite on other successful coordinators and head coaches.

No the guy who has won the SEC W 2 of the last 5 years despite being in the same division and same freaking state as the greatest dynasty in modern CFB

bad coordinator hires ruined dinardo
miles did a great job with DC's and not so great with OC's AFTER crowton.
O cannot call EITHER side of the ball. he best have a long list of DC's and OC's when the time comes if he is still here that long. it is a career killer. he will always be reliant on them.

Yep it was all loyalty and not that you know LSU backed up a bigger Brinks truck.
Just say you like what Os done so far, no need to spin false narratives to convince yourself what a great hire it was

AND............won natty as a OC, won sec as a HC and played for a natty as a HC. won west last year and has beaten saban multiple times! has O done all that yet? you would swear he has just because he beat GUS!
this is where the football ignorant tards kill their argument.

A$M would have paid him
Part of Aranda future is tied to Orgeron. I trust his judgement far more than angry ranters.
