Stop. Take a breath. Lane isn’t the one leading the legal team. There are lawyers for that. I promise you, this isn’t a distraction. He’s got this team locked in.
He did say that he’s been on the phone daily with the SEC, ensuring that no rules are broken. That’s the extent of his involvement.

If you listened to Lane’s press conference yesterday, a few tidbits came out.
First he said he agonized about the decision to add the new players to the roster because they would have to remove some guys who were currently on the team and had been practicing. But he said, this happens in the pros all the time and players are basically pros now since they are paid.
Secondly, he put it to a vote with the players and the team council and it was unanimous. If the players could help them win, that wanted them.
Lastly, he said he will abide by any decision the court rules on Thursday and will not try to buck the system.
All of this sounds reasonable to me.
