Most of these backs besides Fournette came in late games and mop up duties especially as the year progressed. That would definitely inflate their numbers .

Now you're just making shite up. We pretty much rotated RBs throughout our games.

Exactly. Faulk was a number one back from day one. Hill worked his way up from the dog house and most of his yards came after he was the lead back. Vincent's totals were the most impressive. He was buried on the depth chart, and rose up through injury attrition to get his shot, becoming the starter in the second half of the season. He gained around 700 yards in the second half of the season, winning two championship game MVP's in the process. BTW, if Faulk's 234 yards rushing in the Indy bowl counted he would easily have the best freshman year ever. Still wish they would retro those stats.

Now, he's big and strong and fast (for his size) but he didn't show blazing speed at all.

Lf is fast for any size. He ran a 10.68 100 meter. Thats flying for any size.

Did you watch the second half of the season at all? Or did you stop watching the first time we lost a game? Because it sure sounds like it.

I wouldn't go that far. He by no means has been bad, but I wouldn't say his freshman year has been anything spectacular either. Certainly not in keeping with the preseason hype.

Well the hype was he was supposed to be the next AP, but peterson got almost 2x as many carries, and wasn't running against defenses like Fournette was. So overall he is doing ok

quote:

Faulk had just as many rushing yards is two less games. And Vincent's and Hill's freshman seasons were all the more impressive considering that they really didn't become heavily involved in the offense until mid-season

2 less games but almost the exact same amount of carries.

Faulk 174 carries 852 yards
Fournette 176 Carries 891 yards.
That should impress you some

Hill and Vincent weren't freshmen in the sense that they were not in high school the year before

You can look and see that they both had to take year before coming on campus. So they were a year older when they got here, and had a spring under their belt.

Just wanted you to know these things.

Hill was a very good back at LSU, but let's not forget that he also benefitted from LSU having a passing threat as well. Hill will not have been as successful this year as he was last year.

Fournette has the tools, but needs to work more on his game, and he better hope that LSU opens the offense up some or he will always run into walls like in the Arkansas game.

The ONLY reason JV got notoriety as an LSU RB was because he played behind 3 all - American OL. he lost his starting job to Ali Broussard next season. GTFO of here with that stuff mentioning his name on this board.
