Don't forget the Cotton Bowl where JJ lit them up.

Was on the snare line in Tiger Band that year. I have trouble remembering family members birthdays and important dates, but somehow remember 1980's football players full names names and every detail of their gridiron accomplishments. Aging is a curious thing.

Hodson has to be THE MOST underrated QB in LSU history.

Ruffin Rodriguez was on that team. RIP

I was watching that game on TV and remember losing my shite on that 66 yard catch and run by Sammy Martin.

I was at that game too. Michael Brooks sealed the win with a deflect interception return for a TD. To this day the greatest defensive player I have ever seen in purple and gold!

I was there- and lived in East Stadium dorms at the time. Very cool times. And yes a great game and coming out party for an amazing true freshman QB Tommy Hodson..

My freshman year at LSU.
Sat with my Dad in our season tickets in U22 (SW corner) that night.
Thought we would get killed. Hugged Ms. Clara Mae (our season ticket neighbor for years, along with Mr. Al, her husband) a lot that night every time the Tigers did well.
Helluva game.

I was at this game as a 9 year old kid and think it may have been the one when Sancho had an INT return for TD. I remember that play vividly after all these years.

I was at that game in the SEZ . Was sitting in season tickets seats . 2 Aggie guys with their girlfriends came up to me and my friends and rudely told us to get out of the seats that it was their seats . I told him you ain’t gonna come here and talk like that , to GTFO and go back home if he knew what was good for him . They wound up in the row behind us . They stayed quiet the rest of the game .lol

I swear, the jets dropped in to the stadium on the flyover.

Somebody remind me - why was Guidry in at QB for the audible TD to Sammy?

They used to give Guidry a series or two per game by design.
