Football was great back then.

BTW, I have it on good authority that Roy Winston nailed Miss Universe the night before the Orange Bowl..

They really went all out for these bowl games with the festivities and events before and after. Looked like a ton of fun.

Thanks for the post...interesting watch. I've played a little golf with a couple of the guys on that team. Different times for sure...but great stories.

Old fart here but I was there in the LSU Band. Had no idea how many times the QBs for LSU ran.

the rant would have ripped Amadee for the picks, and ripped dietzel for not winning by 40, and only finishing 7th ranked in the country.

Great stuff. Thx for sharing. I say bring back those old helmets with the numbers on the side. Didja notice Jerry Stovall playing both offense and defense? Could've sworn I saw Don Draper in the stands - fedora and all.

Cool. I remeber they used to broadcast the parade live every year the night before the game. It was just as big a deal then as the Rose Parade

She was lucky. Born right before WWII. Young enough not to be gang raped by Russians. Bet she saw some life shaping experiences though.

Great Footage. What a different time, these games seemed so important to their communities and to all that traveled to participate, today just another entertainment option to most. Interesting, Billy Graham was there.

Mike’s costume made him looked like he had been on a bender at the parade.

Anybody notice the LSU fan taking a pull from a brown paper bag around the 7:43 mark. Right after the start of our halftime show....
