Les Miles teams had to be responsible for many heart attacks over the years.

2019 probably would have never happened, so there’s a trade off.

I don’t know why people say this.

There’s a good chance Miles hangs it up by then if he gets that 11 title.

And even if he was still in BR Burrow would have still seen LSU as the perfect place to land.

Do people really think Miles wouldn’t have been able to talk with Jack Burrow, an Ohio based DC, and bring him in if he had 2 (or more) rings on his hand during that meeting?

Besides, Miles brought in Aranda, who brought in Bush, who was the connection to Burrow and his dad to begin with.

No reason that any of that changes no matter who was HC in BR.

He was goofy and had poor clock management and was a stubborn sob. His body of work flat out shows he was not a frick up, to suggest that is well, just wrong.
Sorry, but the Miles era lasted as long as it did largely because of Coach Nick Saban. Saban forced Skip Bertman, the AD at the time, to build brand-new, state-of-the-art, resort-style facilities for the athletes. Coach Saban threatened to leave if they didn't comply.

I heard it from recruit after recruit: “I really wanted to go to this other school, but man, I couldn’t pass these facilities up!”

Once the facilities were finished, unfortunately, Saban left to coach in the pros, and Coach Miles walked into some of the greatest recruiting advantages in college football history.

That advantage lasted for almost a decade before the other colleges figured out what LSU had done, found the money to fund it, and built their own facilities to compete again in recruiting.

With all of the talent LSU accumulated, for Miles to win only one National Championship, and lose another (not to mention all the National Championships we lost in the first week of November; hell, he won one there and then went on to lose to that same team in the NC) Miles absolutely made himself one of the dumbest coaches ever.

We used to watch game after game with all this pure, raw talent on the field, grinding our teeth just hoping he could pull out a second win against Troy—a team we were 20-point favorites to beat!

My gosh, he was so incompetent that for years I actually believed the only reason Miles won was because God looked favorably upon him for being such a good man.

Then, a couple of years later, I found out the truth about him, and that thought never crossed my mind again.

So, yeah, he was a serious frick-up!

One last proof, if he was a Bear or Fisher he would had bounced back to a championship team elsewhere.

Except that Miles had notoriously conservative, boring offenses, and he couldn’t seem to ever recruit good QBs (possibly for that reason).

Remind me, how did Saban do against Troy in year 4 in BR?

I’ll hang up and listen!

Yeah, he really lucked out with Saban landing back in the division and building the greatest dynasty in CFB history!

Please, tell us all the “truth” you found out on the rant

He had shown with Mettenberger and Etling a willingness to go to the portal to try to fix what he wasn’t able to with traditional HS recruits.

Had he just started Etling in 2016 we are probably undefeated heading into the Alabama game and again, who knows how that game that was 0-0 in the 4th quarter turns out.

Again, Bush was the connection that brought BR into the discussion for Burrow.

Ohio born Miles would have been just fine talking to the Burrows and getting him on board, and I don’t see how anyone would doubt that.

The dude in front of me slammed his LSU hate to the ground and never came back for the last play, so I kept it.

Etling started almost the entire year except for the Wisconsin game. He started in the losses to Auburn, Alabama, and Florida.

I’m well aware of that.

I’m saying had Etling been the starter going into the season it’s pretty obvious we would have beaten Wisconsin, given how that game played out with Harris at QB.

If we win the Wisconsin game the entire season changes. At that point Miles was already a dead man walking after the A&M ride off into the sunset that wasn’t at the end of 2015.

Win that big road opener with Etling at QB and the Auburn game is a totally different situation that the pressure cooker it was knowing a loss means Miles is gone.

Nothing goes the same if Etling is under center at Lambeau.

I didn't go to that game.

I was watching at a sports bar and had left.

Listening to the very end on WWL radio and couldn't believe 13 men.

So I ran back in the bar and saw the TD.

That, my friends, is why you don't leave a game early.

I remember that day well being my birthday and watching the game at a restaurant bar in Austin with my GF at the time and a couple friends.

I was so pissed at how it ended I walked out of the restaurant to vent and my GF ran out and said they LSU won and was all excited and I thought she was fukin with me.

Saw the rest as I walked back in to see what she was talking about.

All that’s well and good but we don’t get Chase if Miles is our HC.
