This poll must have been conducted on the UCF campus

Either the long UCF win streak is gone or a powerhouse program gets embarrassed on national television thus validating UCF. Not hard to see the interest here.

I think that has a lot to do with the LSU/A&M 7OT game bringing excitement to LSU and the UCF novelty. Most people outside the SEC wanna see UCF take down another SEC "giant."

But interesting that it and the Cotton Bowl rank higher than the Orange Bowl because of the Tua vs Heisman winner QB matchup. I'd assume that Oklahoma vs Bama would be #1, but I guess people are assuming Bama rolls by a lot.

In all of these “ best bowl polls” that gauge interest in specific games, the LSU UCF game is at or near the top. It is an extremely compelling game because it’s a traditional SEC power versus the 25 game winner upstart that is trying to crash the party. Offense vs defense. State school vs commuter school. Tradition vs emerging.

I think even more people want LSU to shut UCF the hell up. Especially SEC and power five program fans. The whole concept that you can play that schedule ( LOL ) and be yapping about wanting Alabama is a farce . That said, UCF could very plausibly beat LSU if things break their way in the game.

A lot of people are tired of UCF's mewling about being left out and hope LSU rips them a new one. Every UCF fan sees it as another chance to take an SEC school to the woodshed thus proving their worth. There are also a few hoping to see LSU proven as overrated for their own personal twisted satisfaction.

add to that people who are interested in seeing if UCF is genuinely good enough to compete and that adds up to an interesting game for very many people.

The matchup is intriguing to a lot of people. Classic underdog with a very long win streak vs an SEC team. I imagine most of the country will pull for UCF

If you look at the prices tickets are going for in the after market the prices say it is a shitty bowl. You can find tickets for $12 in the upper seats, not great seats but really great prices

It is. It's really not too hard to understand why, considering all of UCF's self-promotion following their victory over Auburn last year.

I think SEC fans will be rooting for LSU. The rest of the country will probably be split between cheering for the underdog vs. cheering for UCF to shut up.

Ticket prices aren't a good indicator of national interest.

I plan to watch Clemson vs. ND, but there's absolutely no reason I would spend the money to travel and actually attend.

The low prices are really just an indication that it's very far away for both fan bases. The playoffs have really dampened the enthusiasm for ANY bowl game that isn't a playoff.
