Amazing game . The tension inside the stadium was unreal. Every single play was a fist fight.

I rewatched that game recently and honestly LSU was very lucky to win that game. Alabama didn't have to punt until 2nd half of that game. They moved the ball much more consistently than LSU in that game, they just couldn't make field goals [they attempted 4 field goals before LSU even crossed Bamas 40]. LSU only tied that game because we were given the ball at Bama 15. If we had to put together any sort of drive to tie that game, it wasn't going to happen.

Rewatching it made me realize how apparent that 1/9 could happen. It was right there in front of us and I think we all just got blinded by the reality of how lucky we truly were that night to win that game. It was very close to going the same direction as 1/9.

Poor Vern must have had some money on Bama with how heartbroken he was

Glad we don't have to listen to that fat fricker anymore

Saban thought if you needed a kicker to win the game, you didn't deserve the win. He bet wrong with that belief this year.

Was this the year of the tea bag?

Very intense game. Every single play. The talent on the field was absolutely amazing that year for both squads

Correct. We also never moved the football in that game until Jefferson came in at QB. That’s a big reason why Les went with JJ on 1/9/12. And if you look back at the 2008-2011 years, Jarrett Lee never played good against Bama. Jefferson always performed better against Bama.

Those first few plays for Alabama looked like they were facing a Blake Baker defense.
