There need to be major lineup changes. Alyona looked very overwhelmed night one. She needs to do a full next week and just do 2 events. Confidence is shattered now.

My last thoughts on the meet.....
Haleigh was excellent. Needs to be in the AA.
Alyona needs to do a double tuck dismount on bars. Also needs to work on her timing on floor.
Kiya looked tired. Maybe feeling under the weather?
Dunne’s ankle needs to heal ASAP!
Elena needs a little more fine tuning as well.
Loved the fight in the end but the lineups were questionable.

I’ve heard for her past two weeks that Emma was doing superb in training. Not sure why she didn’t compete.

Not sure how to ask this without sounding like I am bashing her, but with Alyona,..she came in with such hype and accolades. Is it nerves or is she being asked to do too much or given poor routine approval? She really has the graceful look and seems to have better skills than she has shown.

That was an entertaining night one. How about Christina Desiderio though. She looked absolutely fantastic on Beam and Floor! Scores were a little wild at the end, but don’t care. Love it. Build from this and get better!

I think Alyona kind of gets ahead of herself at times. She’s a great gymnast. I think nerves do get to her. She’ll be fine once she gains more confidence.

It’s funny to me because I saw people complaining about them high-fiving..... have they not watched any other college sport in 2020-2021? Not a big fan of the catty, goofy gymternet, but I just enjoyed watching these young women compete again.

I think it was apparent Alyona was mentally not ready today and she looked extremely overwhelmed and out of her element, on literally every event. This is the first time in years she competed in multiple events in a live competition.
Am I shocked about the fall on vault? Not really, its new for her. Her bars looked very rush and the dismount kills her. Honestly Jay is being stubborn as hell not doing anything about it. She completely botched floor, after that first pass, it just went downhill. Truthly, I was expecting Alyona to compete on 2-3 events at LSU. I still feel her bars could be so much better but Jay has to look in the mirror and make some changes he does not like.
Honeslty Alyona looks exactly like Ruby Harold going through her slump sophomore year right now. I think she will be fine eventually but its gonna be a process.
