For most of us this was a day we thought we would never see! It had been 45 years. We were a fan base hungry for greatness. I was unfortunately not in that number that night in the dome, ( I was 4 years later) that night that day though I will never forget! My gosh JV on that first play I remember thinking My heart was gonna jump out of my chest.
Everyday even the bad ones it's always a great day to be a tiger!

But then our defense immediately got the ball back with an INT near the sideline.

I was there too. Great night.

P.S. Now that I think about it, wasn't the goal line fumble on a bad center-QB exchange, not a JV run?

Yes, that was the first time I ever posted on this site.

I didn't want to jinx the team during the season so I waited until I got home from the Dome for my first post. Yet they still gave the MVP to Justin Vincent.

I was there. It was my birthday. Like it is tonight! I have followed the tigers all over from 1975 and still do. I said that night that whatever happened from this point on I was ok as a Tiger fan. I have loved my Tigers all my life. That night was what I wanted and I am forever appreciative. 2007 was icing on the cake. In the good and bad times since that night I certainly have opinions but I also rest easy. It's only a game but it has been a blessing in my life.

I was living in Oklahoma at that time and flew my LSU car flags to OU Health Science Center the next morning at work!

Did your flags get vandalized? I lived in Oklahoma at the time, and still do. Never been treated so horribly by a fan base in my life, both before and after the game. My flags got vandalized. Some yayhoos pissed all over my truck late one night. Somebody spray painted "OU" on my carport after removing the LSU flag from the pole in my front yard.

And years later, LSU still has that trophy. And another to boot after that. And OU still has Stoops. And an obnoxious fan base.

I cried. Will never forget that night and feeling. My Dad passed away in October of that season, couldn't hold back the tears.

While it's still a reminder of a sad time, it's also one of my happiest memories.
