Why? Because a senior who had absolutely nothing to lose played in a meaningless bonus bowl game? Y’all need to stop acting like the kid did some kind of miracle work.
These people have gone absolutely insane. I mean officially certifiable.
It’s like they believe LSU is a branch of the military, and anyone who transfers away or doesn’t sign with LSU is a traitor to the country and is a coward piece of shite who they pray fails at life.
It’s to the point that people are blaming Max Johnson for not finishing the season and Kirklin having to play qb, when Max was hurt and wouldn’t have played anyway.
I think like 99% of the LSU fans on here have lost the ability to think rationally.

Maybe deep down this is what they missed. Winning took all the fun out of the struggle or some shite.

This kid is the kind of player that I love cheering for

I’d give Bech 18 next year. He exemplifies everything we want out of the number. It’s not the numbers that have been the problem. It’s who Ed was selecting to wear them.
What about Jack Mashburn? He grew up dreaming of being a Tiger, didn't get an offer as a QB, came on as a walk-on TE instead, did whatever was asked of him for two years (moving from TE to WR and back to TE), and proceeded to ball the frick out this year as a TE/H-back.
This kid is a living, breathing example of what being a Tiger means....
Just my two pennies worth, yall....

Kirklin had great heart and stepped up as he needed to, but god damn it wasn’t like he went out there did some sort of unprecedented play. At the end of the day he still lost to a shitty b12 team.
Again, the kid showed great heart and did what he had to do, but to “honor” him, you people have gone mad. It was the Texas bowl for crying out loud. Let’s go ahead and retire the kids jersey for playing in a loss in a meaningless fricking Texas bowl 2 years removed from one of, if not the greatest college football seasons ever.

Yep…. Jontre Kirkland is what’s RIGHT in college football and this generation to be specific while those Opting to QUIT are what’s WRONG with it.

You know what? I don’t even care anymore:
OKAY BOOMER.
OKAY BOOMER.

X’er, and don’t get mad. Get better, like Kirklin.

I would be surprised if BK doesn’t find some way of honoring what Kirklin did.
Prepare to be surprised. You are in the throes of a maudlin reaction, and you are grasping.

You should’ve stopped and put a period after this statement. All the other bullshite is a reflection of your age and emotional IQ. You have no idea what character, integrity, leadership, heart, loyalty to others, resiliency, and competitor means.
You’re a reflection of “I’m going to get mine, and frick the rest“ of how most of your generation thinks. When you dont give a shite about others, it makes for a miserable life.

Finally you spoke and how you truly feel. Zero character, zero integrity, zero loyalty to teammates, zero care for others. That sums up this entire freaking generation. Don’t worry your asses will get old one day and you’ll realize how dumb you are right now

That implies I currently function just fine

You don't know a damn thing about me.
If you want to disagree with what I said or even call me a "fricking idiot," fine. I work my arse off for myself and my family and don't earn a lot in return so you can kiss my arse. Say I don't work hard to my face, Dick.

I like the #18 tradition, O was just as bad at selecting team leaders for it as he was at selecting support staff.
I hope BK keeps it going even if it isn’t the most popular on here
Agreed. I like the #18 tradition. I think it has a lot of meaning to the players, as well, who are selected. O wasn't terrible at selecting it, either. Just when you have a long run of a tradition like this, some will perform better or worse than the median. I thought the 18s this season were good representatives. Loved seeing Atkins getting that tackle in the bowl game last night on the long kickoff return. :)

I'll take celebrating 13 over celebrating 7.
