Could have made it 64 teams and Tehas arse 2 mouth wouldn’t have made it

That’s simply not true. Every game mattered when it was two. That hasn’t changed now that it is 4. It won’t change when they make it 12. Example, let’s say the 12 team playoff was happening this year. Had LSU not lost one of the three games they did, they would likely be a lock for the 12 team playoff regardless of the outcome in the SEC Championship. Game 1, FSU, mattered. game 6, Tenner, mattered. Game 12, Aggie, mattered.

Overblown. I still watched us play Southern this year. Those games are going to go away now, and I don’t mind.
Getting into the playoffs is going to be easy in the SEC, and that could’ve turned into a nightmare with continued conference expansion. Seeding will come with stakes, just like BBall — then win or go home… 1 seed will inevitably sh*t the bed eventually… real CFB playoff is going to be a chaotic blast.
But they have to shorten the regular season or draft-eligible will opt out en masse.

Great. I would have just gone ahead and made it 16.

My only concern is player being gassed by the end of the year due to the extra games
I always see this argument against an expanded playoff, but DII does a 16 team playoff without issue

Well, that’s pretty much us this year. And I’d LOVE a crack against this undefeated #2 Michigan.
SEC will dominate this format. Semifinals and finals. This is great for us.
Edit: 12 teams works if top 4 get a bye. And first two rounds are on campus sites. This will be massive ratings. Semi finals move to the traditional bowl sites. Wow.

RIP to the college football that I fell in love with. They should have never done a playoff system and should have stuck with the BCS.
Should have never had the BCS. That’s what started this mess.
Can’t wait to read future threads by morons wondering why we can’t fill Tiger Stadium anymore.
Oh well, like the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end.

This is great, long long overdue.
Will bring a March Madness / Cinderella aspect to the proceedings each year. And some champagne corks are poppin in Vega$ right about now I'd imagine...

Too diluted. But, It’s all about $$$. Team ranked #13 will be arguably upset and so on. Blowout games.

12 teams is too much. At the end of the season there’s a huge difference between teams ranked 1 & 2 and 11 & 12. 8-12 will get mauled in these playoff games. I think it should be 6 teams with 1 & 2 getting a bye
Aren’t 1-4 getting byes in this format?

8 was the max needed but ok. with 12 we will be in the playoffs every year with CBK!
For LSU it is top 8. For instance. If playoffs were this year. Tulane would make it. They are #19 in CFB rankings. They are promising G5 and all Conf Champs even if they suck
So Lsu this year would not be in at this moment at #11

12 is too many. We’d be in the mix after losing to 4-7 A&M with 12.
Exactly why it’s too many imo

Hey...this thing is broken, how do we fix it?
I know, I know, I know....let's expand it and make it bigger. That should fix it.
Not one single problem with college football is addressed by this expansion.

I disagree. We won’t see teams in the top 20 have widespread opt outs at the end of the year. There’s still hope for a ton of teams going into this last weekend. shite, LSU would be in with a win. Makes end of the year a ton more exciting.
And honestly, if you look at the top 12, there are a lot of teams that could beat a Michigan or USC.

ETA: People are too stupid to realize what this means. If Purdue beats Michigan this weekend, unranked Purdue would make the playoffs.
If you want a group of people determining who has a shot at the title, sure Purdue shouldn't be in. But if you want an objective standard than this should happen.
You would likely need to reform conferences in a 12 team playoff. No more divisions and possibly no more conference championships. Tie breakers would make things interesting but no unranked teams sneaking into the playoffs because they won their division than shocked the world and beat a top 10 team to win the conference.
So this year UGA wins the SEC
Michigan wins the big 10
USC the pac 12
Clemson the ACC
TCU the big 12
Tulane the highest-ranked group of 5 champ.
They get top 6 seeds
Then 6 at large teams get seeds 7-12.
This is the most objective way to determine a national champ in a 12 team scenario.
Alternatively you could rank 5-12 based on a ranking, but giving conference champs an advantage in seeds is IMO ideal.

Nah, it should mean something if you win your conference.
If LSU wins Saturday it means they would be in. Dumbass.

This year, yeah but that’s a very short sided response.
You’re not gonna like it when LSU is 12 and an unranked team pulls an upset and knocks LSU out due to the auto bid.
