This should have happened years ago. Have TAF assign points to student id scans. Like you said, more points for the lesser sports than football. Extra points for scanning out at the end of a game.

Highest points get priority seating for football games, bowl games, etc.

Have the points convert over upon graduation if join TAF.

This is a great answer. If i were AD, id institute it immediately. Would also help at baseball games, which students also dont attend. They pretty much only go to football games now, which is lame

Kind of a self fulfilling thing. The atmosphere sucks, so people don't really want to go, win or lose. Because no one goes, the atmosphere sucks. Repeat.

Well, it’ll be a lesson for the admins. When they do finally tear down the PMAC, replace it with something smaller that only holds about 12k folks.

Well the student section used to be along the sidelines. But as I mentioned, the program’s lack of sustained success over that period of time is a factor as well. Like it or not, we need the “casual” fan back in the fold. People want a fun, exciting, unique experience that will keep them coming back. I will go to games no matter what but a lot of people find the PMAC boring, lifeless, dated and just overalll not a great fan experience.

The casual fans are starting to show up to some degree. Really, the only sections that were completely barren yesterday were the two upper student sections.

I agree that the PMAC can be lifeless often times. But, the students are the ones in ANY arena who have to lead the charge with providing energy. That has always been the case and always will be the case for college athletics.

As far as the experience goes I'm not quite sure what else LSU can do. The team's style of play, while frustrating at times, is by no means "boring". There is a freaking DJ in the student seconds because kids today think the band is "boring". And most importantly, the team is winning FAR more games than they are losing, particularly at home (15-2 this year).

The ONLY thing I think Wade could do is try to get a marquee opponent here in the PMAC some time in December to build some momentum in the lull between the end of football season and the beginning of SEC play in basketball. His OOC scheduling has been terrific, but it's been because he's gotten a lot of mid-major gems (like a Liberty or East Tenn. St.). Those are a big boost to the NET ratings, but casual fans (and I'm sure the students too) look at them as a little sister of the poor directional school and have no desire to show up. Not that long ago LSU would get an Arizona, UConn, Xavier, Marquette, etc to come to the PMAC. Those games were generally really well attended.

With this year's OOC schedule that lacked a marquee "name" coupled with the sheer amount of focus on the football team's success in Dec. through mid-January, the casual fan didn't even really look at basketball until the beginning of Feb. Unfortunately, that just so happened to coincide with LSU's slide in the 2nd half of SEC play. Get an ACC, Big 12, Big 10, etc. team in here in December to start to get the eyes on the program earlier

Yet the students once again don’t show up.

Don’t blame them. Why show up to stare at the back of the basket? Love all of the old people complaining about students while they watch from their couch, or sit on their hands in their court side seats.

So true, the Wade haters may get there wish, he ain’t staying here with this kind of fan base and we have not done any improvements that he requested when he arrived, I thought Woodard was supposed to start the ball rolling when he took over. Wade has won 48 games and a SEC title so far in his last 2 years, plenty of schools will gladly take him from us.

bullshite. It’s a social event. Show up with friends. Sneak in your booze. Get rowdy, taunt the opponent, help your team win. There’s lots of student sections that extend behind the basket.

So you're telling me there are thousands of students just dying to go the basketball games (at no charge whatsoever for the ticket) but aren't simply because they have "bad seats"? FWIW, the students have almost equally as "shitty" seats for the football games and seem to have no problem at least showing up. Also, Kentucky puts their students basically in the same spot as LSU does (behind a goal and in a corner). No one seems to complain about that. They just want to be a part of the environment

I agree 100% that it would be great to see the students closer to the floor on the sidelines like it use to be. But LSU has no incentive to make that happen (at a loss of significant revenue) if the students show no real desire to show up for the games.

Most of them are studying how great Bernie Sanders and Socialism will be over a Capitalism for America. Or playing Mickey and Minnie’s clubhouse.
