The education system and the Left has pussified our young people today so much that they don’t give a rat’s arse about sports in general.

I'm no leftist, but this is silly. Our students were unbelievably hyped up during football season.

Reduce student seating and add a point program for post season athletics including football. Ex you go to baseball and football great but the poor attended sports get more points for the students who go. That would help.

A little more explanation is needed on this one. Is basketball attendance an LSU student issue or national issue?

Also, liberals are why LSU students aren’t going to basketball games? Get real.

F King Alexander hijacked LSU and temporarily turned it into a far left SJW institution. Down vote away but it will take years to reverse his admissions policies. Similar to Trump reversing all of Barry’s bullshite

There have been tons of threads on here with students bitching about seating.

May be some, but i doubt the great majority of complaints are from students. Likely mostly from millenials and others who can't just enjoy the game and spend two hours without a whole bunch of superfluous activity and non basketball entertainment.

My earliest LSU sports memory was the PMAC in 1994. The program had begun the slide but I remember it was absolutely lit up for the Kentucky game on fat tuesday that year. Hell the PMAC was awesome in 2000 for that SEC title run. But at this point the PMAC needs something to change in terms of seating overall, and drastically.

So what changed? The PMAC is a facility. Why was it adequate for the students and fans 20-25 years ago and now it needs " drastic " change?

Pathetic. Could you and TNTigerman explain the political motives that determine where my dog takes a shite? I’d wager parenting has more influence on students’ values than a university president.

In no universe does your logic begin to seem reasonable. It’s kids and a basketball game. Nothing more, nothing less.

They’re no different from the way they were in my day 20 years ago.

I was fortunate to be a student 40 years ago when the PMAC was as raucous as any in the country. It was known as the Deaf Dome back then.

I think WW is the right coach for the program, but it'll take awhile for LSU to get that type support ramped up again.

It's not about building a new arena, although the PMAC isn't exactly state of the art, the demand for a new one simply isn't there yet.

Nothing. It needs no change. It’s just yet another gripe that gets rehashed over and over as blame for the poor attendance.

Completely agree with you. It doesn’t need drastic change. That is a red herring to sidetrack the younger generations’ disinterest in live sports and /or front running nature.

But sure, build some swanky coffee shop arena and they’ll show up for a year or two. Then they’ll quit going when the team is down or the technology is outdated. Call me an old man, but I go to sporting events to watch live sports. Frick WiFi, specialty foods, and any other bullshite comfort these candy asses want for a 2 hour athletic event.

Thank you for suggesting a solution and not just complaining about how much the students suck or how “the liberals” are driving down attendance.

To add to your suggestion, students could scan tickets after games are completed to earn an extra 1/2 point or something like that.

Like it or not, increasing student attendance will require some incentives

It was 11 am on a Saturday morning and the weather outside was beautiful. I don’t blame them for not being there.

This should have happened years ago. Have TAF assign points to student id scans. Like you said, more points for the lesser sports than football. Extra points for scanning out at the end of a game.

Highest points get priority seating for football games, bowl games, etc.

Have the points convert over upon graduation if join TAF.

Fraternities should buy tickets to each game and make a certain number of their freshman go. Could instantly add 30 drunk fans instantly each game easily.

But I’m sure the LSU admins would call that hazing.

Yeah, the move them to the sideline narrative needs to end. They have done absolutely nothing to earn even consideration.

Well the student section used to be along the sidelines. But as I mentioned, the program’s lack of sustained success over that period of time is a factor as well. Like it or not, we need the “casual” fan back in the fold. People want a fun, exciting, unique experience that will keep them coming back. I will go to games no matter what but a lot of people find the PMAC boring, lifeless, dated and just overalll not a great fan experience. Have you ever tried to sit in the 200-300 seats? I’m only 5’11” and I can hardly fit my legs in the row where my seats are.
