But would you accept 10-2 and a Sugar bowl? I haven't been here long but I can see that the LSU fanbase seems a bit spoiled. This team will be real good this year. But I am not sure some know how much luck is involoved in being better than 10-2.

I wouldn't call it spoiled. Fact is that since Miles has been here, 10-2 has been standard, average, or whatever other term you want to use.

Hoping to go 12-0 or 11-1 is within our reach EVERY year, so to "gamble" for that instead of settling for what is the most likely outcome anyway is not a problem IMO

Name another school that would not like to have that every year? Like Iowa, Or Nebraska[as of now] Arizona, Heck even Fla St. LSU is in a different area as far as most schools go. But it takes A lot of luck to do better than 10-2 every year. I mean look at Mack Brown at Texas. He had like 9 seasons of at least 10 wins and people want him fired. Really?

The day we lower our expectations is the day we fall back into the pack and are no longer elite.

A certain Coach in another state seems to be doing very well with this approach. You may remember him when he brought a rag-tag football program to National prominence before handing the keys over to... well use your imagination. And here we are today... 10 Wins, baby!!! We don't need no stinkin' Crystal!!

I would like to think that a national title contending program like LSU would contend for national titles instead of sell out short

NO....too much of our fan base are "settlers".

Funny how 10-2 leaves a bad taste....this team has talent. They lacked execution.

The D will not be a disaster and if we can get even a couple more first down drives and trade a FG for a TD this team will be f'ing dangerous.

If we lose that first game, then yes I would lock in 10-2, etc. But, if we win that first game, and these young guys get confidence, we are most likely 4-0 going into Georgia. So, ask that question on Sep 1st. Yeah, I know that's a dodge.
