I grant that Da CoachO knows far more about motivating football players than I ever will; however, I worry about coaches who rely on emotion (whether its "One Team, One Heartbeat", smashing red bulls against the forehead or whatever) to prepare for a whole schedule. It has its place but near exclusive reliance leads to the risk of let-downs IMO. So, Troy Games may come more often than they should.

The year after LSU's national championship season, Troy was leading LSU with 3 minutes left in the game, 20-17. It took a late score for LSU to get the comeback win in Tiger Stadium. ...and that LSU team was coached by the Greatest Football Coach in the Whole History of the Entire Universe. 2004 The only other game between Troy and LSU was the other year after LSU's national championship season, 2008. And guess what? Yep, LSU was trailing in the 4th quarter of THAT game as well. At one point in the 3rd quarter, LSU was down 31-3. It took the biggest comeback in LSU history to win that game. 2008 So LSU lost to a small-time program (that other great LSU coaches struggled against) in O's first month as head coach. It happens. It doesn't mean that O is some terrible coach, and it doesn't mean O is some great coach. It doesn't really mean anything at all except Troy was the better team that day.

At the last fricking minute. The point is that Troy has played LSU tough EVERY game. These three games against Troy all looked very similar at about midway through the 4th quarter. It's not like it was some crazy different game from what the two greatest coaches were able to do against Troy.
BTW, Troy finished 2004 7-5, 2008 8-5, 2017 11-2.
