Currently we're in 5th in SEC standings: Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU.

We play Alabama so that doesn't matter, but Kentucky and Ole Miss could pose a problem.

Ole Miss's remaining schedule is:
vs Auburn
vs Georgia
@ Oklahoma
vs Wofford
vs Miss State

Georgia is likely their only loss left, so a 2 loss Ole Miss beats a 2 loss LSU in tiebreaker scenarios.

Kentucky's remaining schedule is:

@ Tennessee
Florida
@ Missouri
Louisville

It's not hard to imagine Kentucky going 3-1 for that stretch, which would also put them above 2 loss LSU since they beat us.

That means final SEC standings could look like: Georgia, Ole Miss, Kentucky, with LSU being left out.

They only let 3 Big 10 teams in the playoffs last year, even though most agree they were the best conference.

Just win out. A 10-2 LSU will get in over a 11-1 Big12 or ACC school.

You’re thinking too much. LSU is in at 10-2. Unless you just really want to play in the SEC Championship.

This is what I'm trying to tell you..

"Just win out" doesn't hold do the reality if Kentucky and Ole Miss don't start losing.

Luckily the season doesn't end tonight. Dude, go look at their schedules. Everyone ahead of us still has a gauntlet to play. The SEC is canabalizing itself this year more so than ever before. It's beautiful!

If Kentucky and Ole Miss also win out, then all 3 teams are in the playoff so who cares?

Maybe.

But watching Texas crash out 3 straight weeks is a nice consolation prize.

You're forgetting Georgia. We would likely be the 4th.

Maybe, maybe not. Georgia would have 2 losses as well (assuming a loss to Ole Miss) and by war the worst loss of the 4 teams. LSU’s resume would most likely be better. The fact is if LSU finishes with 2 losses they are in.
