We're known for unique food. I know it's an insult, but it doesn't even make sense.
What's the origin of the insult?

Smell of fried food in the distance smelled like corn dogs to an Auburn fan years ago

Best frozen food item save for HungryMan chopped steak

Some say Nebraska fans during the Sugar Bowls of 85 and 87. Some say Ole Miss. I’ve even heard Auburn. I think whoever it was insinuated that we smell like fried food. Catfish or oysters would have made more sense.

Wouldn't seem to be unique to us...but whoever accused Aubie of being logical?

It was plagiarized from a rant Iowa did about Nebraska.

Was an online/message board insult to Nebraska fans back in the day. Some unoriginal Auburn fan (shocking) stole it and put it on an SEC board about us smelling like corndogs. Auburn fans smell like burned gymnasiums, Spike 80 DF and used toilet paper

It's actually a funny story. It was originally about Nevraska fans (huskers). An old email went around that was hilariously written. Then an unoriginal Auburn (i think) fan just redistributed it and replaced Nebraska with LSU.
You should Google the original email that started it all. It's worth the read.

I enjoy a good insult. Would just like something distinctive...such as "land thieves" for Oklahoma.

THIS!
I never understood how this stuck to us. It’s the dumbest thing. There’s a lot of stereotypes you can apply to LSU fans but corndogs ain’t one of them.
ETA - early internet days I guess when people thought everything they read on the internet was true.

Thanks. I literally can't think of a dumber insult.

People that only salt and pepper their foods and maybe a little rosemary.
People who obviously have no experience or taste of our local cuisine.

For a team that pretends that we are far, far below Bama and Georgia as far as rivalry relevance to them, Aubbies sure do spend some time hating LSU.
We rarely played them prior to 1992, but since then the hatred is palpable.

1993 - 2013 intense rivalry.
