Agree. 4th and 10 is low percentage and you're giving it to them in FG range if you fail.
I can at least understand the long field goal because you turn it over at roughly the same spot if you don't convert 4th and 8, and a punt is a likely touchback.

They found the crack in our defense and Kiffin knew it. It was the right call. Didn’t go our way and the score maybe looks worse for it. But they score a td whether we punt it or not there.
It’s just optics and appears worse than it was.

The punt team would have allowed the returner to get it at least back to the line of scrimmage, so it was the right call.

On the drive that netted us the FG in the first half, there was a play where Leavitt had the entire right side of the field open inside the 10. He could’ve walked in.
