So they wouldn’t have a publicly lame duck coach in the week leading up to a make or break rivalry game. If LK was staying, they would have announced that instead of the statement they did

Ahhhh, so in your mind he’s already taken the LSU job and the Ole Miss AD can totally trust LSU to not leak the story ahead of Ole Miss’s Saturday announcement. That makes total sense.

Dumb fricking take. If he was staying that would have been announced immediately and not “oh we’ll let you know in a week.”

The dumb fricking take is thinking he’s taken another job and Ole Miss can trust LSU to not leak it ahead of their own announcement. This is about using LSU to leverage more tout of Ole Miss’s boosters.

No, it isn't. Or it's plain stupid.

Ole Miss is playing for a playoff bid. If he's coming back, you absolutely dont want the players distracted by this. Before you say "he's told the team"... that's 90 college kids. Someone would leak it out.

If he's coming back and didn't tell them, he's sabotaging his season.

He's moving on. I assume LSU, but it could be Florida

Saban talks about student-athletes.

That is a bygone era. Kids are getting paid to play and go to school.

LSU was used to leverage a better deal for Lincoln Riley and they’ve assumed the cuck chair yet again.

Do you want Kiffin?
If so, you should be happy we're pushing hard to get him.

If you don't, then relax. If we don't get him, the field is still open and we've shown we won't be cheap. That will bring someone else good.

We're not going to ascend with a bargain bin guy

My wants have zero impact. The fact pattern is very odd to believe he’s already taken any other job.

You think we will be dominant with nobody returning on defense
Cooley, Pickett, Woodland, Spears. That's a combined 6 ints returning and a full starting DB unit. We have elite young athleticism behind them.

Whit Weeks returns and we finally get to see Singleton and all the speedy young athletes at LB.

Big Dom returns, Breaux returns, the DL haul from last year returns and we will bring in multiple 5 star DL in the high school class including the #1 player in the country. I think Dylan Stewart and Colin Simmons showed you what top teir 5 star DL can do for you.

Plus, the portal my guy. Why do you think we have the defense we have this year? Did you not read what i put down?
quote:

no WRs
UGA and TAMU's top WRs are portal players. We will have Nic Anderson in year 2 at LSU. We have that beast Taron Francis waiting in the wings. We have elite freshman WRs. Trey'Dez Green is basically a WR. Also, it's about to be breakout season for Kyle Parker. Guy has waited his turn.

Again, did you forget the portal? Ole Miss's leading WR was from Penn St, their #2 was from Wake Forest, and their #3 from Okie St. Three of their top 4 WRs from last year were from Louisiana Tech, Louisville, and South Carolina.
quote:

a questionable QB
Kiffin's QB this year is from D-2

Jesus Christ the portal will be littered with beast QBs to challenge MVB. He could turn MVB into a legit QB. He did it at FAU too. A QB the year prior to him threw for 2400 and 9 TDs to 11 ints. The next year with 50 less passes, he threw for 2240 with 15 TDs to 4 ints. He had a 2nd QB throw for 600 and 4 TDs. The team threw for 3000 and 21 TDs to 6 ints. Do you know why that was so low? The RB that ran for 1000 the year before, Lane had him run for over 1900 yards and 32 TDs. The QB also doubled his rushing from 240 and 4 TD to 420 and 8 TDs. They went from 3-9 the year prior, to 11-3 in Lane's first year.
quote:

and having to replace the oline?
LSU has OL pieces, they haven't been coached right. Echols is the center if Moore doesn't come back. Thomas was a 5 star OL that got hurt before the season. Curne was a highly rated OL prospect as well. Both will play the guards. Adams and Ory Williams should take the tackle spots unless we get one in the portal.

We have OL, just poor coaching and management.

Jeez

He has a job at Ole Miss. Despite him having them above where they are used to, this is the latest he has them in playoff contention. If he's going to stay there, the last thing he'd want is this distraction hanging over their heads... and could end that by announcing he is staying and signing his offered extension.

He hasn't. His family has been touring 2 other places.

He had a meeting with administration to clear this up, perfect time to announce. Instead, he is silent and the administration has put out a message begging fans to come support the team, that "the next steps will be taken", and an announcement will be made the next day.

That's not how you say "we're planning on winning the SEC and playoffs this year"

Or keep the charade going for a week to bolster NIL commitments for years to come.

The announcement is before the playoff run. They don’t need motivation to win the egg bowl.

These posters only see through purple lens. Kiffin is staying and right now they are working the boosters for more NIL. That’s why the AD released that statement. It was a call to the boosters.

And another possibility the idiots don’t want to consider is that Kiffin has actually not made up his mind and told his employers he will announce his decision the day after the Egg Bowl. And yes, that gives Ole Miss time to sweeten the pot.

that's bullshite. State has shown some fight this year, it's a rivalry game, and there's a good chance that a loss knocks Ole Miss out of the playoffs.

I always assume it’s a woman posting when they start a post with “Lol”. Either that or a very effeminate man.

Every time I read a post like this I always assume it’s another fricking loser that can’t get laid.

Other losers in the media try to put a sympathetic spin and call it the “loneliness epidemic” but it’s simply another dumbass male that women don’t want to frick.

Adding to this: There is obviously real affection for LK in the Saban household (e.g. "Mrs.Terry" referring to LK as one of Nick's "baby coaches" on GameDay earlier this year).

If you serve to this day as a mentor to your younger former assistant coaches, love college football and, oh yeah, are universally regarded as the greatest coach ever, wouldn't you want a protégé that you are fond of to succeed?

It’s not LK, Herby mentioned LSU 2 times and we know what happened the last time he broke LSU coaching news.
