Redzone offense was horrific tonight

What happen? LaTech shut them down
Also 4 turnovers and 100 yards of penalties
Game could (should) have been 63-3

Vanilla. Don't want to show too much to Ole Miss

You know, before the season started we were worried that the offensive line might need some time to gel. It worked surprisingly well versus Clemson, but maybe it took a step back due to not being sure of responsibilities against LA Tech's weird defense.

I think last week spoiled us. LSU scored 45 points and had about 550 yards of offense, despite the 4 turnovers. Last year we'd have been thrilled with that output. They simply need to cut down on the mistakes and gel a little more. This is a fantastic team.

It is probably a mix of these things. With Clemson the staff probably worked for weeks drawing up the gameplan. For La Tech I'm sure it was more compressed. I would also hope that they didn't want to show anything new. The obviously didn't need anything exotic. It does look like close-in redzone needs work. The 2pt conversion last week didn't work and Saturday's was mostly bad also. We will get a better feel for this staff watching to see what they do (or don't do) about it.

Not to be the "secret playbook" guy, but I feel confident Kiffin and Weis really do have things they purposely haven't shown yet that will be used against Ole Miss.

Perhaps but maybe just a juicy rationalization. Leavitt is a so, so passer and I'm not sure he's great with his decision making. We're missing a vertical passing game which is a staple of the Kiffin/Weiss offense. Wilson made a great catch on the one long connection.
The O line may have been confused somewhat by Tech's scheme but it's a work in progress if we're being generous. It certainly won't hold up against SEC talent.
Maybe it was just a bad game or overconfidence but the turnovers, penalties were careless.
It certainly looks like Clemson is just not a particularly talented or well coached team.

Thanks, Captain Obvious!
Next, please tell us about how the OL got dominated…

Boy did they accomplish this mission! Seems all we have is SAM just run around and find the endzone. Seems La tech's dline looked like ours. Better do our 1 vs 1's in practice and come up some better plays for short yardage. Looked way to similiar to last few years.

I agree. Our O Line looks very mediocre. That can't be the case against the better SEC teams. Our defense looks very good, but they can't carry us every game.

Great analysis. Last week I was surprised how crisp everything was, lack of penalties etc.
I think they need to get TreDez more involved in the red zone, maybe they didn’t want to show it. It seemed like it was difficult to spread LA Tech out in the red zone.

LA Tech Redzone D was just tough. It was a weird 3-3-5 defense they couldn’t figure out. It was just a bunch of small LA tech defenders flying around and crashing.
Couldn’t score unless it was a design QB run.

I hope this is this case because this should be correctable
