Archie Manning is a Louisiana Legend, and we don't have many. He endured the worst years any NFL franchise could ever go through and he never bailed on us. As a Saints fan, he has earned my respect and appreciation. He was also the best color commentator on Saints radio that we ever had and it ain't even close. I hate to see him getting old.

Honestly...I'd say the same thing about my son that wasn't a NFL HOF QB while his 2 brothers were!

No he isn’t.
Ron Guidry - Louisiana Legend
Honey Badger - Louisiana Legend
Bobby Hebert - Still doing time in Purgatory for playing for the Falcons but he’s on the way to LL status
John Fourcade is closer to a LL than Archie
Archie Manning was one of the worst things to happen to the Saints. He was a likable, humble guy who never motivated the team or the ownership to try harder. In post-game interviews, he’d “gee, shucks” his way through the interview and everyone would give him and the team a pass. Loveable losers.
When it looked like Peyton might go to the Saints, they took out a big insurance policy on Peyton and had him return to college for another unsuccessful season. Archie was a Karen/Dance Mom when Eli was going to be drafted and tried to dictate which teams better not draft Eli.
He was entertaining as a radio announcer with Jim Henderson because that really took advantage of his best traits. But Louisiana Legend? A guy from Mississippi? Nah.

My mom dealt with him mid 90s and would talk about how nice he was. When I lived on magazine I’d see him eating at casementos

In the moment that they were saying that, he wasn’t.

There’s a reason he, Joey B, and Jayden weren’t in my list.

Arch is an interesting player to watch. He’s nowhere near as consistent as you want him to be, but then he makes throws where he has stepped up in the pocket, eludes a heavy rush and drops a dime with touch or velocity as may be required. If you watch his highlights from last night, he looks elite. But if you check out his stat line and/or watched the whole game, there’s some “meh” in there. My guess is that he is a guy who needs more development and fortunately for him, with his family and NIL resources, he can take his time.

This has been repeated so often I’m convinced it’s just said to make Cooper feel better

Idgaf what anyone says
I watched the book of manning and I like them. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Archie and the tragedy he dealt with and he was loyal to the Saints, loved the city and raised his family there. All 3 good sons hard workers snd Peyton and Eli seem for the most part like good men and fathers.
I don't understand the hate for them.

Hats off to him for that. I could sit in the suite every game or I could sit in my seats, which are at midfield 27 rows up.
I’d much rather sit in the stands with the fans. In the suite maybe three people, including me are actually watching the game, everyone else is in the suite eating, drinking and and trying to be big time not paying attention until the crowd yells and then they yell.
Screw that, I like being in the crowd much better. It’s much more fun and entertaining.
