Long ball needs to get cleaned up

I don’t know if it was the receiver drifting off the route or hash mark or if Sam is just missing a little bit in his accuracy, but there were two balls that were about the right distance, but they ended up behind the receiver.
The pick six at the goal line.- The receiver did not look ready or perhaps the ball was thrown a little early? A bit high?
- and then of course, Sam’s first interception was overthrown to Green so I don’t know if that’s his tendency or not? It was also super humid last night and perhaps be an issue holding the ball?
That said - I am very impressed with CLARK and if anything happens to Sam.
CLARK strikes me as a guy that will never give up the starting position again.
That’s a good problem to have, but I do want Sam to be super successful. His scrambling abilities is impressive.
He seems to have the shorter passes dialed in pretty good 90% of the time they look on point.

Sam’s last long ball was something special
That said, Clark could also be Lane’s Chambliss find for 2026, if the situation ever required a change

Anyone who watched his highlights from before coming to LSU knew Sam is infamous for bad throws. His arm will dig our grave and his feet will climb us out of it throughout the season.

There was one in the end zone that was really forced and he has to make a better decision. He seemed like he was locking in on a receiver, but they were like three defenders and then there were other times where he was scrambling and I noticed number 88 was wide open in the back of the end zone so I think he needs to maybe make sure he’s keeping his head up.

Sam needs to mature from that MO. He’s not a bad passer just gets jumpy at times. Needs to let it come to him and choose his spots more carefully

We don't have a vertical passing game. While it's always been a staple for Kiffin, Leavitt isn't that guy and we don't have a typical "stretch the field" receiver.

Sam is not super talented. He just seems like a winner, but not a gifted and refined QB. We will win with our D.

He makes a lot of bad decisions trying to force big plays. Hes got to learn to live for another down.

If our opponent averages negative rushing yards and 50 total yards of total offense per game, he could throw 3 interceptions per game, every game, and we would still win by 30 every night. This starting defense is fricking diabolical.
For real though, he needs to clean that shite up.

I got downvoted for this last night, but I don’t think that last long ball was very good either. I know he was on the run and hurried, he’s just not a special passer. Maybe it can get fixed but seems like that’s his MO.

Highkey sam is arse passing it’s the truth and he os whats stopping this team from being a title contender.
But they are talented enough in every other area. Arch manning is arse too even with the comeback but like LSU his team is good enough to compensate.

For OM he has to do better on his reads and quick decisions. I suspect he will rely heavily on his legs as he is unsure. Maybe a little like Arch in the OSU game for 3 qtrs.
Decision making and accuracy needs to improve and speed of the decisions need to be quicker.

I can't remember if he threw an INT or INC, but there was one play in the second quarter where #15 was wide open and could have hopscotched into the end zone for an easy TD. I don't think Leavitt even saw him. #15 just threw his hands up in frustration after the play; there was no one near him.

They will sellout completely against the run and force him to win with his arm
