First team defense has only allowed three points total

And that was after a turnover in our territory

I think our ones have allowed a total of 73 yards (73 against Clemson, 0 against LA Tech) through about 6 quarters.
That'd be unreal against a high school team.

These are the underlying stats that never see the light of day, but the oddsmakers feed on them.
First team efficiency extrapolated to suit the current opponent.

They were on 30 yards tonight when 2’s rolled in.

Our defense looks incredible. That being said Clemson looks like a disaster and LA tech was not a good offensive team last year.
And we know that Bakers defenses can look night and day against running QBs.
Next two weeks will let us know exactly what we have. Is the defense good or is it all time great

Having faith that Benefield will shine in ways Haulcey couldn’t just by virtue of being faster.
Dottery is a big boost too.

La tech put up 80 before this game. But again, that was against a really bad opponent. We'll find out what we need to find out next week. I feel ourdefense is definitely elite regardless

The defense has been absolutely suffocating.
I love it.

100% agree.
I said the same thing to myself tonight.
Having Weeks and Dottery at LB and then Benefield in the backfield.

It's not that Clemson was stifled after a couple of drives or LA Tech couldn't score on us in the red zone. Neither team has been able to do a single thing against our starting defense.
Most of our tackles are gang tackles because of the overall speed of the defense.
We have an absolutely elite edge rusher in Princewill (something we haven't had in 15 years) and a couple other good ones on the other side in Carpenter/Ross and Brown still learning.
Our interior is like 6 highly rated guys that rotate in and out and are all extremely disruptive.
Our LB never miss an assignment and are ripping the ball out at all times.
Our CB keep everything in front of them, and our S are locking guys down in the slot.
We've played two bad offenses, but it truly looks like the best defense int he country. There hasn't been one, singular hole in the defense. It's insane. I haven't seen a defense fire on all cylinders like this since 2011.
Huge test next week obviously but I don't see these guys slowing down as the season goes on.

they have allowed 0 imo. Clemson got the ball off a turnover in fg range and we held them to 2 yards on 4 plays. FG was gifted.

1st team D has also not allowed a 3rd down conversion

This is true for most defenses. Running QBs are like a cheat code. You can be in perfect position coverage wise but you lose contain and that's it.
I don't know if LSU will beat Ole Miss but Baker might have the fastest, most athletic defense he's ever had from top to bottom. I'll be surprised if Chambliss throws for 300+ and rushes for 70+ again.

I feel ya. We've played plenty of cupcakes in the last 15 years since 2011 and we've never had a defense look like that and they've done it 2 games in a row. You know it when you see it. This defense has it.
They subbed out of the Clemson game with 73 yards given up. They subbed out of the LA Tech game with 23 yards given up. That's 96 yards through 2 games.
Hell it might even be less than that. Remember after the LA Tech TD in the 4th quarter, the next time LA Tech had the ball they put the 1st team back in and sacked them on 4th down so that's probably more negative yards if you wanna be technical about it. Either way they've allowed less than 100 yards combined through 2 games, and frankly the 3 points they've given up they forced a 3 and out, 3 points were only scored because the drive started in FG range, it shouldn't be held against them. It's almost unfathomable.
