Who is the backup to Dottery if he cannot go or if he’s limited?

It would likely be Keys but tbh I would rather see Ross in this matchup. Chambliss hasn’t been running as much but we need a LB who can run sideline to sideline with him if the play breaks down and he escapes the pocket

Thanks. Dottery has been fantastic. He was limping but continued to play last week. Allegedly in a boot last night in Memphis.

You mention Chambliss running. Lacy should be a major concern. If he runs for 100+ yards, the advantage flips to OM, in my opinion.

Keys has been getting snaps but Ross might get some PT if Dottery out. But Dottery would need to be more than questionable for him not to see the field at least. Maybe hold him off unless you see the need to put him on the field.

I can promise you that if Chambliss needs to run 20 times this game he will. We need to have the personnel for that. He hasn’t run much because he hasn’t had to.

Lacy’s been limited in their 1st 2 games with an apparent tweak of something. Hasn’t looked great when he’s played. So far. He still had it in him, obviously.

But it would depend on how he gets those 100 yards. 20 carries for 100 when he gets 5-6 yards on almost all and can keep them ahead of the chains? Not great for us. 20 carries for 100 yards with an 80 yard touchdown and his other 19 carries only go for 20 yards? I’d take that in a second.

I think Dottery plays, but may be on a limited pitch count.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that is now SOP with respect to any type of ankle/lower leg injury. Even if relatively minor. Kind of like an overabundance of caution.

I don't think many people fully realize what kind of pain a lot of these guys play through. A lot of times they are beat to shite on Saturday and struggle to even move around on Sunday and Monday. Yet, come Saturday they are ready to go.

Our defense should switch to bend, dont break for this game. Running QBs can abuse the blitz and thats typically how they are most effective.
