Don’t think I’ve seen a player turn it around so quickly like Leavitt

I’m sure coaching helped, but I think that injury really showed Leavitt what he can and should do. Yes I know that’s not exactly a hot take. But I’ve seen plenty of young QBs improve year to year, and I can’t remember one turning it around this dramatically within a season. There’s only so much you can coach in a season. Some things just have to come with experience and tremendous work in the offseason à la Burrow and Daniels.

So it was always there and they saw it. He still does some questionable shite (like that INT we got bailed out on today), but man, he’s great. Not sure we make the playoffs because of that stupid UK game, but Lane is a badass.

This team could’ve let UK break them and it didn’t. Glad they had more resilience than I did after that shite loss.

He didn’t practice in the spring and was still recovering in the summer. To think he wouldn’t improve was a ridiculous take

Outside of a few mistakes he was great in every game.

It wasn’t that big of a turnaround honestly

4 million dollars creates pressure. You can tell he’s a guy that wants to earn it and he often tries to do too much. Once you let that go you can relax and take what the game gives you

Ole Miss was in his face all night. That played a big part to the start of season.

It's been a huge improvement in completion percentage.

I don't like being the I told you so person but I saw it in him in spurts throughout the year, he just needed to be more consistent. Even in the earlier games I never saw anything from Clark during his plays that showed me he should be in over Leavitt, never understood people calling for that. And I had a feeling he'd improve as he got more and more reps with the team given he had missed spring. Maybe the poster here that told me he'd be Tiger Woods if his golf game was more consistent as a retort to my comment earlier this season has become Tiger Woods by now but I doubt it

He’s good for 4 to 5 bad decisions, wild passes, or tipped passes per game. If those 4 to 5 passes aren’t intercepted, he typically has a great game otherwise.

He was also on fire in the first half of the UK game. He lost that after the high, tipped throw for a pick in the 3rd quarter. But he still didn’t suck in that game.

I did not know this part. It does put things in perspective.

Did anyone predict it would take a leg injury to slow him down and start throwing more? This is what sparked his progress more than anything else.

Sure, it helped but you’d have to be legitimately mentally retarded not to think it would take him some time to gel off of a serious injury and in a new program
