I don’t remember hearing him as being pursued but I have been really impressed by him this year. He has a good arm and great pocket presence and throws on time really well

He does but man it’s everything else

He steps up in the pocket, timing routes are thrown on time, he goes through progressions, etc

He did not look good last year before he got hurt.

I haven’t watched him much but he does seem to move well inside the pocket. Good presence.

He is averaging 240 passing yards per game—3 tds/g—0ints—65% completion pct and if you watch he clearly reads the game well and is comfortable.

He absolutely looks good this season and that’s not debatable

Cayden Lee and Simmons would’ve been nice to have. Simmons doesn’t have Leavitt’s legs but he started for Lane initially for a reason. The arm is awesome

I think he probably did, but why would Simmons go with the Coach who benched him? Especially if he thought Chamblis might end up at LSU if he won another year.

He was very sloppy early last year. He looks a lot stronger physically and a lot more polished. He’s done alot of off season work.

I’m not saying he is nearly that good, but he LOOKS like a pro in terms of his pocket play and timing

Whomever did his offseason work did a damn good job

They have 3 points? I see a thread like this and I get excited only to be disappointed.

Hopefully that changes.

I watched all of OMs first 3 games last year and I watched the State vs Mizzu game last week. He just looks like he’s gone from a gangly guy with sloppy mechanics to a man with a polished release. Now he made two of the most boneheaded throws I’ve seen all year last week in crunch time so like you I don’t know if he’s an upper tier player but he does look improved from a physical and delivery aspect.

And over 250 yards against everyone else including 2 sec schools now…

He is on his way to 400 yards vs Florida
