Dabo is Les Miles on steroids

Both strange personalities. Both had high highs. Les played for two national titles and won one, Dabo played for four and won two. Neither seems to have a clue how to manage game day without elite coordinators.
Can’t imagine the frustration Clemson fans feel watching this shite.

Dabo is just stubborn. Poor Les had cognitive impairment due to cte

Miles has a case against the pesticide companies, eating grass eventually caused cognitive issues

Dabo is Les Miles on steroids w/o the talent.

Les was the definition of stubborn, never adapting to modern offense and telling fan base every damn off season he was. Stubborn on his hires, his philosophy and criteria for side chicks.

Dabo is a product of his time. He peaked in the ACC right when the rest of the conference tanked and struck gold with Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence back to back before the transfer portal era. He's been unable to find a QB since Lawrence left (among other issues).
During Clemson's 5-year dominance, 1 other ACC team finished in the top 12. So you had a cakewalk to the 4-team playoff with some incredible QBs.
He obviously deserves credit for his CFP record:
Beat 2015 OU, lost to Bama
Beat 2016 OSU and Bama
Lost 2017 Bama
Beat 2018 ND and Bama
Beat 2019 OSU, lost to LSU
Lost to 2020 OSU

No, the similarity is that he and Les absolutely refused to adapt to the changing wind of college football.

If Les Miles had played Dabo’s schedules, he'd have 4 MNC’s

I know I'm in the minority with this opinion.... but Les miles was a great coach, even in spite of his shortcomings.
If he weren't in the SEC West during the same time period as Saban was, he'd be recognized as a top 5 all time coach. He'd have at least two national titles and probably three.
Hell, if you remove only the grass eating and the quirky things he'd often say (neither of which has anything to do with his coaching ability), he may not be regarded as an all time great, but he'd be much more respected than he is now.
The man fielded some amazingly talented and hard hitting football teams and he won a lot of games. He recruited with the best of them, and his players would have run through a brick wall for him.

At his peak Dabo put Les to shame.

Les should have won more. He was stubborn like Dabo.

Unfortunately, having the GOAT coaching in your division will cost you some games and some tie breakers for the CCG.

You could also compare him to coach O after losing his great coordinators. Clemson was trash before and after Venables. Dabo was fortunate he waited so long to take a HC job.

Both stubborn as frick. Dabo will suffer the same fate.
