Attending Burrow's first game against Miami in Dallas (2018)

Me and a bunch of buddies met in Dallas for the game and it was Burrow's first season/game with LSU.
I don't remember leaving the stadium thinking we have the best QB in CFB History. Probably bc it wasn't a world-beater performance. I am going to go back to that 2018 season to see some the highlights from the team that year, particularly Burrow.
He took the world by storm in 2019. We all remember that clearly.
Did we expect Leavitt to be the world-beater this season, seriously? Is that fair?

The difference is Leavitt already played a lot at his prior school.

Probably bc he wasn't behind two NFL First Round Draft Picks, though.
I guess that game experience has changed our expectations of a new QB in a new system?

First year transfer QB at LSU, new coach/system, has two years left to play for us (I'm pretty sure)
Those are comparables....
Maybe the hype warrants the criticism so far. But I just wouldn't write this guy off just yet. That seems unfair. His issues are fixable.

Burrow showed flashes in 2018. He also tucked and ran a lot similar to Sam. Also had lots of dropped passes that year. Then we had the summer of 10000 catches.

I remember JB audibling to a run in that Miami game that resulted in a 55 yd TD. I was amazed we had a QB who could read a defense… I was impressed and hopeful we had found a good QB for a change.

I was there also. Ticketmaster messed up our seats somehow and we ended up in the middle of the Miami section close to the band. Had to listen to a lot of trash talking pregame. I really let their fans have it during the game. The best away game I’ve attended. Some took it well, some threw beer at us. lol!

Leavitt took a team to the CFP as a freshman. He’s pretty good.
